I like that signing. He spent some time with the Bears and Saints and while he hasn't played much in the past few years he's only 27 years old and his best years are ahead of him.

Danny Austin followed up his tweet with an article in the Calgary Sun today about JWL who says he is fully recovered from his broken wrist and is excited to be catching passes from Bo.

“Yeah, during some of the NFL workouts I was able to run routes with Bo Levi … so we kind of have a connection that way. Not on the field, but through external events,” Williams-Lambert said. “It was good to work with him and kind of see how he is. Joining that type of calibre of player would be a blessing for me.”

Edmonton is no good, but I like this move by Victor Cui - I'd like to see the Dinos and Stamps collaborate with a game day like the Golden Bears / Elks.

The team announced on Tuesday that they had partnered with the Golden Bears football team to host a showcase game double-header at Commonwealth Stadium next season, with U of A kicking off at 12:00 p.m. MT on Saturday, October 15, before the Elks take on the Argos at 5:00 p.m. MT.

Not to be too cynical, but it's not likely to attract many more casual eyes to the University game, and appears just more of a bone for the U of A and its players to have a chance to play at Commenwealth. Maybe for those fans who find it harder to get to the U of A's facilities and Commenwealth is more accessible?

Regardless, to get to the stadium 5h earlier/spend 10h at the stadium and watch two games, you'd have to be pretty hardcore football fan, which means you'd probably be going to U of A games already. Those that do come early are tailgating anyways (if there is any place to tailgate there).

Stamps doing it would be even less so of a novelty, since they both already play out of the same stadium.

But, the effort making off the field is commendable. I have a feeling this owner will be having to apologize for Jones in a year or two, however.

EE season-ticket holder here. We’ll be bound for the South Pacific so won’t be able to attend these games.

Good on the Elks for creating more interest in the team. For their sake, hopefully the product on the field is better than it was last year.

The Stamps should really do that. Sell season tickets for cheap to fill up the Stadium and build interest in the team again.

I don't like spamming this thread with Edmonton news, but this was a no-brainer to me. Get rid of those antler helmets:

Looks much better. Can't say the Elks aren't trying to win back fans.

I didn't mind the antler helmet in all honesty, but the double 'E' is emblematic of football in Edmonton and you really don't want to mess with that history/tradition.

Meanwhile, the Argos are doubling down on acquiring members of the Amos family. They signed Dashaun's brother earlier today.

The Toronto Argonauts have signed American defensive back D’Angelo Amos.

The 24-year-old Amos spent parts of the 2021 NFL season with the Detroit Lions after being signed in August of last year.

It wasn't terrible, but I always thought if you're going to stick with an "E" team name like the Elks, why wouldn't you take advantage of the double-E logo? It's a classic look for them...

It was a 1 year cash grab IMO

Rebrand to sell new merch and hope people want to buy the teams new brand, then go back to the classic EE logo after a year.

I don't know about that. I think the Eskimos are simply trying to distance themselves from everything that happened last season as for the first time since the 60's fans simply stopped coming to games.

Likely speaking a bit prematurely but hopefully the Elks is a stepping stone for Victor Cui taking over from Ambrosie in the next couple years as commissioner. Seems like a guy who "gets it" which is rare for the CFL.

I'm a '60s fan and know many '60s fans and we're still going to games. We make up a large segment of the season-ticket fan base.

Just thought I'd drop this here because it's Alex Singleton. I have to think there's going to be a lot of NFL interest for his services.

Did you buy any antler-related merchandise last year?
