Not saying this has any legitimacy because GROSS.
I think Eklund lives in Philly, so he spouts out what is going around the towns fanbase. It's why, once in a blue moon, he's right. Notice that this is substantially worse that what I thought that the Flyers would entertain.

Either way, roster player/top prospect/1st isn't hard to guess.
Phillys offer, good roster player/top prospect/1st.
Calgarys want, excellent roster player/best prospect/1st.

Florida is having a decent season. I wonder if they'd be interested in bolstering their lineup with reliable veterans and possibly giving up some future assets. Cali would probably have a better idea on what their needs are.

If we can give them possibly one of Frolik (homecoming and familiarity with Tallon), Hamonic, or Jankowski, maybe they would be willing to part with someone like Owen Tippett or Aleksi Heponiemi.

Also it's spelled "inconsistent".

I think Montreal lands Hall.

They've got the desperation dripping off them that Shero likes.

Yup, Voracek is older, more expensive, and has broken 80 points twice in five years, and the other seasons are 50-66. I think he way overvaluing Voracek and Frost.

I'd imagine them being interested in either Hamonic or Brodie. They have had Pysyk and Brown in and out of the lineup as their #6 defenseman and could use an upgrade since Quenneville doesn't seem to trust either one.

The only way Ghost, a top prospect, and a first makes sense is if gets real convoluted and the Flames flip a defenseman plus futures for Hall.

Fantasy time.

To Philly: Gaudreau
To CGY: Konecny, Sanhiem

To NJ: Valimaki, Bennett, conditional 1st if he signs turns to a 2nd if he walks
To CGY: Hall (no extension in place but both sides want one done)

Hall-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Konecny
Lucic-Ryan-Dube
Frolik-Jankowski-Czarnik

Gio-Brodie
Sanheim-Anderson
Hanifin-Hamomic

Default I want to play, too

Spoiler!

To Philly: Gaudreau, Backlund
To CGY: Voracek, Sanhiem, Frost, 2nd

To Buffalo: Frolik, Jankowski, 5th
To CGY: Miller, Thompson

To Minne : Hamonic
To CGY : Fiala, 4th

Tkachuk-Monahan-Mangiapane
Dube-Lindholm-Voracek
Fiala-Frost-Czarnik
Lucic-Ryan-Thompson

Gio-Brodie
Hanifin-Miller
Sanheim-Anderson

so you gain a 2nd and 4th and lose a 5th. I think that your window is still open, and you never have to trade again. That would be a super fun team to watch, and Hall wouldn't be around to irritate me.

And now back to reality. Or one more beer. Haven't decided.

Wow. Voracek and Hall can both stay home.

icon57 Philadelphia and New Jersey:

The Flyers would likely rather not give up anything from their roster,

I think I'd be happy with Calgary retaining some of Johnny's salary while going for more futures, something like Philly's 2020 1st, Mikhail Vorobyov (big centre, good in A) and Morgan Frost (three assets for 3 years of a signed Gaudreau)

The part I like most about the Hall deal is that the 1st would be in 2021.

Tkachuk - Monahan - Lindholm
Hall - Frost - Vorobyov
Dubé - Backlund - Mangiapane

Then at the deadline trades for Brodie and Hamonic go down and we're walking in to the 2020 draft with four 1st rounders!

Have a feeling Hall will be on Colorado. He wants to go to a contender and Colorado has the assets to get him. Also in addition to MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Kadri, etc there, it is less pressure on him to produce.

If Gaudreau is to be moved, I hope he is for 1sts, high end prospects and RFA level players.older vets like Voracek or Hall you can skip over. Acquiring those.types.of players moves things backwards instead f.forward.

If you have to take back salary, take the least amount.possible and expendable at the earliest convenience.

With how things are going for New Jersey I’d be really surprised if Hall is still there by the Christmas roster freeze. Him staying there won’t be helping his trade value and the Devils are a joke on the ice. The entire roster has just given up, they’re full on tanking.
