They didn't let him go they traded him for 2 good players with better contracts. Dougie is a UFA in a month or so

Yes Lindholm and Hanifin are good players but I think you could have a good debate in that Dougie Hamilton is the best of those players, not that I don't think Hanifin and Lindholm are that bad.

Bruins didn't do so great with their pick they got from the Flames, Zachary Senyshyn, they missed 4 players that ended up being allstars.
Brock Broeser, Travis Konecny, Thomas Chabot and Mathew Berzal.

It's hindsight but it gives a good idea of the return Dougie Hamilton fetched as well as the players available in that draft.

Compare them next year when Dougie is making 9M+ and possibly on another team

Lindholm and Hanifin are both on great long term contracts

Doesn't matter to me who wins, but I do have soft spots for former Flames unless in specific scenarios, so, go Dougie? Though I can't see Tampa losing this series.

I'm sick of seeing Tampa-based pro sports teams do well. Time to let someone else have a turn.

And I've always had a soft spot for the Hurricanes since they are really the Whalers and they eliminated the Oilers in the SCF in 2006.

Generally I’m anti Tampa. 2004 notwithstanding, their snakey cap circumvention, and their crappy behavior towards the Panthers fan, that’s enough to cheer for the Canes.
