Frankly, what a terrible and inept franchise. Look at how easy it was to acquire a serviceable goalie on an NHL contract. Their AHL GM was concerned about the situation a month ago. Dim Jim was likely too preoccupied with his rigorous hair dyeing regimen until now.

Story goes that they were waiting for McKenna go be out back on waivers by the flyers with their goalies getting healthy. McKenna was on conditioning assignment and was due to come back or hit waivers. But they got caught last night and did something about it. Goes back to McKenna being claimed after the Eriksson trade which no one saw coming. Basically Fletcher screwed the Canucks.
