Anyone know if there’s a video link to this segment?

Even though it's an individual award, the battle for the division between the Flames and the Sharks down the stretch will also factor into people's mind when making their vote between Gio and Burns. As it's shaping up now, Gio found another gear and is captaining the Flames into top spot.

He got serious love on HNIC all night long. Gio has to be the favourite now. So deserves it.

Hedman isn't the best defensive d-man on his own team. McDonagh is.

Pretty crazy to think that Gio is having the 3rd most productive season EVER for a 35+ year old defenceman. 3rd in all of NHL history. Wow. The fact that he even has an outside shot at being #1 ALL-TIME is mind blowing. Truly a season for the ages. My brain can't even comprehend just how awesome he has been this season. All for 6.75 million/year.

God damn.

Gio has one fewer assist than Johnny does right now. I find that pretty incredible.

Gio now has as many assists this season as his previous highest single season point total.

Definitely agree with this.

Aside from Kutcherov, who else comes to mind as a Hart nominee? Maybe Crosby, but then who?

It's getting harder to see Gio not getting a nomination for the Hart as well.

Maybe, but Friedman was saying on 960 that Hedman gets a lot of love out east, including from players.

Gio lead his team to first in the west tonight with a 1a +3 effort

Meanwhile burns held pointless with -1 on the evening.

Statement game on who should win the hardware

Friedman says the only real competition for Gio is Hedman,.

He said that the American markets in the east almost never watch Gio play, and he expects a lot of them to be voting for Hedman.
But he did say Gio would probably get the Canada +western votes.

Even on the Sharks' own forum, most don't think Burns should win over Gio.

That’s crazy when gio leads in almost every category compared to hedman (G, A, Pts, +/-)

If that does happen, it wouldn’t be the first time we get shafted by tampa

With Hedman 20 points behind Gio, and with the Flames winning the west, there is no way Hedman will win the Norris.

Its ridiculous that "American markets in the east" almost never watch Gio play, yet they're allowed to have an "unbiased vote"

Or maybe im reading too much into it, and these guys are professionals who will do their due diligence.

Cough Theodore cough.

Gio seems so determined this year. He has been in consistent beast mode all season and seems to have found an extra gear. He is the definition of team captain.

I think this time there is enough eastern support for Gio to win. If Burns was in the east I think it would be his, but following Canadian media the last few weeks I've seen enough high profile shows and writers proclaim Gio the Norris winner that he'll get it.

If Burns wins it this year, next year the Flames should just label Gaudreau a defenseman, let him play left wing as normal and win the Norris with the most points. Burns is about as much of a defenseman anyways.

I'm sure Gio would take a Conn Smythe and a Stanley over a Norris.

But the Norris would be nice too. Go for the Trifecta.

You know Johnny and Gio are also a great fit. They seem to really always know where each other is at and play extremely well together. Gio has really been super outstanding to watch all season and is definitely controlling and winning games while setting the ethic and discipline.
