Their last two albums had that one catchy track too.

Friends and Traitors was their preview track and a little too pop for me off of Veil of Ignorance and then Sunlight was their preview pop track off of Sound of the Republic.

I'm confident they'll launch a solid effort this time around too.

Google sucks at translating Asian languages - sorry about that You should just copy and paste フアクヤー (exactly that and nothing else) into google translate and click the 'listen' button.

Besides that:

ACーさん = AC (respectfully, ie 'Mr')
そうですね = I agree (pronounced 'So-dezz-u-neh'
フアクヤー = umm, just listen as mentioned before

Bruce Dickinson has been battling cancer. Evidently it's been caught VERY early, but still scary. Give it hell, Bruce!

Quote:
Just before Christmas, Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson visited his doctor for a routine check-up. This led to tests and biopsies which revealed a small cancerous tumour at the back of his tongue. A seven week course of chemotherapy and radiology treatment was completed yesterday. As the tumour was caught in the early stages, the prognosis thankfully is extremely good. Bruce’s medical team fully expect him to make a complete recovery with the all clear envisaged by late May. It will then take a further few months for Bruce to get back to full fitness. In the meantime we would ask for your patience, understanding and respect for Bruce and his family’s privacy until we update everyone by the end of May. Bruce is doing very well considering the circumstances and the whole team are very positive.

Megawatt Mayhem

http://cjsw.com/program/megawatt-mayhem/

Hosted by JP Wood & Kevin Woron
Saturdays from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am
Next Show: February 21, 2015 @ 10:00 pm

I believe this is Canada's longest running metal show. I've done some work in the library, and they have a few drawers stuffed with metal CDs.

The new 36 Crazyfists kicks all sorts of Buttocks. Three times in a row tonight I've listen to it all the way through. All of it, all of it is awesome. Time and Trauma is what it is called. The first four tracks are tied into each other so well it hooks you and it doesn't stop. I really do think this is the best album they've ever released.

I'd be a little more impressed if that wasn't a series of takes haphazardly stitched together.

I'm usually the first person to crap on 'Teen girl plays metal halfway competently, OMG' videos, but this really impressed me when I first saw it.

I've played guitar for 20 years and the only criticism I can make about this girl are:
1) Video obviously stitched together
2) She needs to move her fingers more efficiently, but she compensates with speed so it sounds fine.
That's it.

King Diamond live at Sound Academy in Toronto - Welcome Home. I stood out in the cold 2 hours before the door even opened so I could be front centre against the rail. Starting around 2:20 mark if you look to the lower left yo can see a red Flames ball cap rocking out. That is me.

Why the bass in And Justice For All is lacking. This does not surprise me as Lars has always been an incredible d-bag. Too bad, I would love to hear the original mix. No wonder Jason told them to zark off.

Someone made a remastered version with enhanced bass (though they went a little overboard in the other direction). Still sounds pretty great though:

Bandwagonish, Episode 13: Podcast on the Calgary music scene featuring radio host Kevin Woron

http://calgaryherald.com/entertainme...st-kevin-woron

Woron is known to many as the man behind the mic for Megawatt Mayhem, the radio show that’s been a staple on campus and community station CJSW for 30 years, making it the longest running heavy metal show in Canada.

Over the course of the conversation we discuss: how his first Kiss record kickstarted a life in metal; how he got his start on CJSW; his days working on the Wayne’s World-esque cable show Metal Man then Metal Maniacs; passing up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to punch Vince Neil in the head; his thoughts on the recent controversy surrounding former NDP MLA Deborah Drever and her appearance on the cover of a Calgary metal album; his own foray into the political world as a candidate for the Alberta Party in the 2012 provincial election; DJing at other clubs around town; four years fronting local band Torment’her; and the current state of metal in this city, including the upcoming Calgary Metal Fest (June 3-6), and some names to watch out for.

It’s a fascinating discussion of an oft-misunderstood, sometimes vilified musical sub-culture, with Woron, perhaps, being its greatest champion in the city and certainly its most knowledgeable.
