Default Buying tobacco online

Wondering if anyone has ever bought any tobacco products online and had them shipped to Canada ? With the ban on flavoured tobacco I was going to try buying Skoal online.

Aside from getting destroyed by duties and taxes there should be no other issues, is there?

The messed up thing:

It's probably easier to buy fentanyl online than flavoured tobacco.

I have family there and do get a present in the mail monthly but buying online would just be easier.

I have an order I'm waiting on from Northerner.com. I ordered 30 tins of Hawkens on my previous order. It took about a month to get the order. I believe I paid 225.00 in duty. This time I ordered 6 pounds of Stoker's and 10 tins of Hawkens. The order came to 150.00 Canadian I believe. I will let you know what the duty cost when the order gets in.

That's the exact site I was looking to order from, so duty was roughly $7.50/Tim. Perfect, aside from length and added duties everything else went somewhat smoothly?

Yes. All was good. That was about a year ago though. I'm not sure what the duty rates are now. I wanted to order more this time around, but I want to see what the duty is like first. It's absurd to think I just paid 16.00 a pound for Stoker's, and a 2 ounce bag of Redman costs me 37 bucks here.

If you're willing to wait until I get mine, I can give you the breakdown on the duty.

I'm gonna put in an order tonight and see what it ends up costing. It boggles me that a log of skoal is $17-$19 in Montana when I'm down there and $140ish here.

Absolutely. Everytime I cross over I hoard up. I bought a tin of Skoal a couple months ago from a store in the middle of nowhere near where I live because they had no Redman. It was Citrus. It didn't even faze me they were breaking the rules until now.

So does that land under the label of flavoured tobacco?

I use canadacigarettes.org to buy my cigarettes, they don't seem to have any chew or bulk tobacco on their site tho. really great site, I only get dinged duty on about 1 of 4 cartons. When duty is charged it's just a little more than a carton here ($140) but the other 3 of 4 save me huge (~$55). Last time I got 5 cartons and paid a total $275CAD, or roughly 1/2 of what it would have cost here. Thanks Notley, you have been saving me a ton of money by making flavoured tobacco illegal.

I've ordered from Northerner twice and one of the orders did not get through the border (four rolls of skoal). The first one I ordered three and that go through fine.

Just received my order from Northener today. 6 pounds of stoker's chewing tobacco and 10 tins of Hawkins. The duty was 210.00, but the Alberta tobacco tax was 1081.00. Gross, considering that the tobacco itself cost me 140.00.

Hey fellas has anybody had any luck with their purchase of Hawkens? I did see Some success but at a price. Is it worth it? I love Hawkens but don't wanna pay stupid prices for duty.

The best option is to load up when you travel down there. Get it shipped to your destination address or even a UPS store for pick up. Some require you to ship your first order to your billing address to avoid fraud, so just order a lighter or ashtray or something with no additional import tax.
