How would you compare it to Bowmore 15?

Stronger!
I think it's one of those that needs a touch of water. It's probably less smokey and caramel than the 15, similar peat. Maybe a bit more salt. With a drop of water it's a bit smoother. Overall not a lot different, other than the strength. Just subtle differences.
Why yes, you did make me go taste them back to back just now.

LOL, well, it was open anyway, right?
To be quite honest, for a very long time, I used to be a single malt purist and a staunch proponent of having Scotch neat only. Lately, more and more often, I find myself enjoying it with an ice cube. I bought a large ice cube maker on Amazon; makes 1.5-inch ice cubes. I use carbonated spring water to make them and they freeze pretty clear. Just have one cube at the bottom of the glass and sip slowly while watching a movie. You can see the flavour swirling around ice; it's fascinating, actually...

Right now it's a mix of liquor I actually buy myself, cheap liquor for mix, and various gifts and liquor left at my house over the years. Currently consisting of:
What I've bought for myself
- Lagavulin 16
- Writer's Tears
- Pink Whitney
- Malfy Grapefruit Gin
- Martini Vermouth Rosso
- Campari
Cheap liquor for mix
- Captain Morgan
- Stoli Vodka
- Kraken
- Canadian Club
Gifts / liquor left at my house
- 1800 Anejo Tequila
- Asom Broso Silver Tequila
- Tequila Orendain Extra
- Dupuy Cognac
- 2 bottles of Soju
- Cointreau
Working on the whiskey collection. Next up is a bottle of Suntori and probably something a little more peated; maybe Port Charlotte

As you know, when you go tasting in Scotland they all have water droppers to add. So with 4 on a flight, I always felt it worth experimenting by adding a little water later in the tasting. Some scotches it works for, some it definitely doesn't. I find it tough to compare a cask strength with an 80 proof directly, so find I need to add a touch of water to balance it before comparing flavours.
I play around with ice ocassionaly, but usually just like them as they are made if I'm just sipping on one.
I heavily ice the cheaper Canadian and Irish whiskeys and enjoy the transition as the ice melts.
I bought one of those ice cube trays that does ~2" square or so as well. I call them 454's. Big Block!

I’m jealous of that collection. We should hang and have a tasting night.

I made pisco sour this summer. It goes quite well with cerviche/cebiche which I also experimented with making this summer. The cerviche is a crap ton of prep, but when you make a good batch, it's so worth it.
