You guys wanna go bold, let’s go bold then. Medvedev defeats Opelka…in 4 sets or less.

Sabalenka is out, bageled in the 3rd.

I think it's Swiatek's to lose but watch out for the old guard Vika and Serena.

Looking good so far. If Medvedev makes the final he becomes new world #1

Edit: If Djokovic doesn't make the finals and Medvedev does then he is new world #1 I believe

You are assuming Djokovic doesn't get to the final

PARIS — A tennis player suspected of match-fixing last year has been arrested in Paris during the French Open, the Paris prosecutor’s office said Friday.

According to French newspaper Le Parisien, which first reported the story, the player is 765th-ranked Yana Sizikova of Russia. The prosecutor’s office confirmed to The Associated Press that a “women’s international player” was in custody, but it did not identify her.

The player was arrested Thursday night on charges of “sports bribery and organized fraud for acts likely to have been committed in September 2020,” the prosecutor’s office said.

An investigation was opened last October by a French police unit specializing in betting fraud and match-fixing. It has previously worked with Belgian authorities investigating suspected fixed matches at the lower levels of professional tennis.

That's dumb. Who fixed matches at a grand slam? Should have been done for less money at a tournament in Tajikistan. The dumb criminals are the greedy ones.

Probably not the brightest move to double fault twice in the same game (unless you're Zverev). Pretty easy to dump some returns in the net or blast them long, I do it all the time.

yup, I'm sure there's a ton of match fixing in tennis for small amounts because there's live betting and the sport is so fluid. One point can flip a match. But when it suddenly gets into the thousands for a match nobody's watching, that triggers the authorities.

Geez, Collins was up 4-1 in set 2 and Serena rolled off five straight games to win the match. Biggest difference I see in her game is the movement, getting too way more balls in 2021.

I'm really not a fan of these night matches, especially with no fans.

Why do I always have to defend Isner? He's 36 years old!
And actually good on clay, because he's slow and the ball is slow
