LOL Pliskova loses the 2nd set (and the match) after being up 5-0.

Meanwhile, Medvedev was cruising in his match against Krajinovic winning the first two sets and it was looking like a formality for a straight sets win and now he's staring down the barrel of a 5th and deciding set.

All of a sudden, Medvedev goes into red-line mode and is up a break in set 5.
Edit: Medvedev one game away from delivering a final set bagel. He was 0-6 in five set matches prior to today.

There are 4 American women in the last 16. And not who you expect. Serena obviously but the other three are Brady, Pegula and Rogers. And they haven't dropped a set. 18-0 combined. And that's not even counting Kenin, Keys, or Anisimova, the 'better' American players.

Disappointing loss for Vasek/Shapo last night in men's doubles, they were up a break in set 2 after taking the opening set, but Tiafoe/Monroe rallied to take the second set in a tie-breaker and then dominated in set 3.
Better news in mixed doubles though as Gaby and Mate Pavic won their opening match in mixed doubles (this is the duo that won the mixed doubles title in 2018).

A good percentage of the top seeds remaining on the men's side - Felix has a great chance to make the quarter-finals.

Haven't seen the young Russian before but people are very impressed with his play so far. Hopefully Felix can bring his A game and hopefully Dimitrov can at least push Thiem

I think Dimitrov has a chance of pulling off the upset, he has yet to drop a set this tourney and got a break with PCB retiring after just one set played a couple of days ago. As for Felix, if he can play the same way he did against Shapo, if he loses, then tip your cap to his opponent.

after seeing the Karatsev highlights from last match, I'm officially deeming that as unsustainable. if he really was that level of player, then I'd just be putting his name in the GOAT Across All Sports thread, and the mods would just have to close it down right after.
even if Karatsev starts off with the hot shots tonight, some good Felix defense will eventually get him to start spraying a little bit if he needs to hit some extra balls.

If Djoker is truly wounded and Raonic can pull off the upset then we could have two Canadians in the top 8, and they very well could be the two lowest seeds remaining.
Cheering for the boys tonight!

Upset alert (sort of) as Muguruza wins the opening set 6-4 over Osaka.

Ruh Roh, Muguruza has Naomi in big trouble and let her up off the mat, expect Osaka to win going away in this 3rd set.

Really uncharacteristic unforced errors from Naomi and now she's tossing her racquet as Garbine breaks her to take the lead in set 3.
