Can you believe we beat up on these guys this year?

Out of all the Canadian teams, I'm glad its Montreal that moved on.
Could you imagine the force feeding we'd have to go through if McDavid or Matthews made it to the finals? They'd be saying it was destiny and we'd have a 10 pt mini series on the teams.

there goes my perfect bracket...I ####ing hate Vegas and its well documented, I just thought the Habs would get their ass kicked considering they won 24 of 56 games. Vegas choked again.
Dallas made it to the finals last year in very similar fashion and missed the playoffs this season. NHL is a fine line.
Guess what if its Tampa I am going to double down on Montreal getting their asses kicked...If its NYI I think it goes 7.

Riots after a playoff series loss? You must be thinking of Vancouver.

It's a division 2 team playing a division 1 team that just took out a team that looked poised to steamroll its way to a cup.

Oh just tuned in, this is amazing. Suck it Vegas. Suck it Mcnabb and Reaves. Lehner seems like a solid guy, he’s about the only player I feel bad for.
Abysmal season as a flames fan, but with the oilers getting swept and now Vegas knocked out by the underdog there is some redemption.

Montreal were quite underrated because Price missed large part of the season and only played 25 games. People just look at the standings and assume Habs are extreme underdogs because they barely made playoffs. In reality they would have made playoffs quite convincingly had they their all-world goalie healthy. This is quite similar to 2004 Flames being underrated because Kipper only played 39 regular season games that year.

Glad the Habs won. F Vegas so much. Isles have always been my 2nd favorite team so if they win against TBL it's kind of a dream final scenario for me (outside of the Flames making it).
Habs' fans suck (rioting already during a pandemic LOL) but they have a likeable group of players. HOF players like Price and Weber deserve a chance to cement their legacy and this trip to the finals, win or lose, cements that. Glad to see Byron and Kulak get a shot at glory too.
Just hoping and praying TBL loses vis the Isles because I just don't see them losing in the finals. Cinderella stories seem to run dry in the finals.
Screw TBL > wishing the next Canadian team to win the Cup is Calgary.

Well the Flames did win 42 games in 2004. This Habs team was on pace for a 35 win season over 82 games. Has any team in recent history made the playoffs only winning 35 games? I still feel this Habs team will likely miss the playoffs in the Atlantic division next season. That said they are in the finals and you can't take that away from them.

Without their starting goaltender for well over half the season.
Context.
