That’s not relevant to his post at all.

And that’s why we have no communities or any semblance of society right?
Self interest will only get you so far.

If 5M barrels per day is shut in there's enough storage in OECD countries to make up that shortage for 550-600 days. Prices will climb significantly if there is that much shut in for more than a few weeks.

I'm not sure what to believe, I had read the Saudis said it was minor and wouldn't take long to fix, but that looks like a big fire. The also say 2 attacks, but the satellite shows at least 5 smoke spots. That, and the rebels say the attacks will continue.

Looks like they have already managed to extinguish the main fire at Abqaiq. If you go back a day you can see it smoking, go back another and those other 4 fires don't exist. I'm still wondering how they say only 2 sites were hit. There are 5 fires!

I guess it depends what prices go up to. And I didn't make separate trips, I was out already, right next to a gas station, and filled up. My wife was out with her car and I told her to fill up as well. So no extra time/trips. It was about 70 litres total, so at 92.9 vs, I dunno, I could see it hitting 1.10 pretty easily next week, so $12 or so. Not nothin.

Gas stations raise their prices for lesser reasons.

If they were cruise missiles and not drones, I'm not sure how it makes sense that these would be launched from Yemen and end up impacting the NW side(note this image north is to the left). It also means if they were launched from Iran, it would be an odd trajectory. The video (posted in the twitter thread) also shows them flying over Kuwait. What is NW of there? Iraq, and Syria farther away. And Saudi. This all looks kinda fishy, no?

Cruise Missiles are smart weapons not ballistic dumb weapons. You program in way points and the target and then fire it.
The new generation cruise missiles are considered brilliant weapons in that they self navigate using GPS. I can fire a weapon towards Edmonton and have it navigate towards Dallas.

Right, but Iran probably isn't using the most advanced types. Why would they approach from over Kuwait? The shortest distance is about 350km from Iran. This route would be over double that.

For the obvious reason, in that its pretty easy to track a missile from a direct course firing it straight from Iran practically screams we did it.
At least taking the longer course that turns guarantees some initial confusion.
The question you and everyone should be asking is what did American satellite surveillance see? I'm assuming that they have blanketed that whole region with sat coverage.

If you think or know it will be tracked, which any country would, then you wouldn't fire it from inside your own country, you'd fire it from Iraq, or Yemen or somewhere off the Saudi coast from a boat, or a few miles inland after smuggling it all off a boat into the Saudi desert.
The only reason you would fire a missile that would be almost certainly tracked from inside Iran is if you are trying to start a war between Iran and the US as you work for the Saudi secret service, maybe because you were worried by the sacking of John Bolton that the US weren't going to go to war with Iran after all and needed a bit of a kick in the pants to get things going.
