Have there been concepts released? I havent seen anything design wise since the new negotiations started.

There's public money involved, which means the prime consultant services (design) will have to go through an RFP process (procurement type undetermined at this stage). Until that process is over (and it could take a while yet), I wouldn't count on seeing anything concrete or official until then.

This is a very big deal for this city. I know the timing isn’t the best. Wait maybe it is the best time.

sounds about right...it will be a 'design lead' and a local firm, much like the Library was...
so, you'll have a firm, like Rosetti who specializes in arenas teaming up with a local firm who'll act as the construction administrators... similar to Snohetta/Dialog for the Central Library.
you'd have to think Rosetti has an inside track if they have been involved in the pre-conceptualization and have a patent pending on the 'inverted bowl' concept.
looking forward to seeing the designs and teams that come forward

Does anyone have any insight into how you reply to the 60 million in cuts but spending 275 million on an arena? Assuming the person is completely ignorant of the situation.

Excellent news. It will be exciting to check out the new arena when it's open!

Jumping the gun here, but what kind of timeline are we looking at... something like 2024 for completion?

Yes 2024 has been the rough opening date.
Rogers Place will be 8 years old at that time and that place will be beat up pretty hard by then.

Didn't even win it in the Saddledome. We won it in the old Montreal Forum. The only visiting team ever to win the cup on that ice. That's over 70 years.
Edit: Sorry, I guess the Rangers won it in 1928 on that ice too.

Yes, one is a liability and the other is an investment.
Cutting your $100 house cable bill to put $200 towards a house or a business opportunity isn't that terrible of an idea, is it?

This is a great day for Calgary! Hopefully the ones against this see all the positives down the road. This makes Calgary a much more appealing major city. Very exciting times.

I want to see that inverted bowl happen so bad!
I also absolutely have to get to the Saddledome before it is gone.
