Fuddruckers hasn't done well in many Canadian cities. Maybe it didn't translate well to Canada, but it was a pretty uninspired burger as I recall - at least the one in Kelowna was. I have had friends who loved the one that was in Saskatoon, so who knows. Different tastes, but it honestly tasted like a store bought frozen burger patty, and the bun was institutional. The only good points were the fresh toppings, but that's not unique point anymore, it's pretty expected.
I have a rental condo on the other side of 8th street across from Fuddruckers in Saskatoon and I stop there every time I'm in Saskatoon. I think it is great. It is always packed whenever I'm there so I'm assuming that people in Saskatoon love that place.
Mustard, relish, onion, lettuce on the bottom. Cheese, bacon, pickles, ketchup on top. I don't know why I do this, but I have always built them this way.
Interesting seeing all the posters who put Mayo on their burgers. I put Mayo on chicken burgers or BLTs but never on a hamburger. My sauces are BBQ, chili, mustard and ketchup.
Cool Story: While travelling through Germany I attempted to order a Whopper with no mayo in German. I kept repeating "nein mayo" over and over again and they had no idea what I was trying to say. It turns out "mayo" meant nothing to them and I needed to say "mayonnaise" haha.

What about beets. The Aussies love pickled beets on their burgers.

I personally don't like BBQ sauce, chili, hot sauce, relish, etc on my burgers because I find it takes away from the taste of the burger itself.
I don't mind the thousand island style sauce that big macs or in an out uses, but anything else is too overpowering.
Mayo on burgers is a Canadian thing as you don't see it in the US very much (there is an old Bruce Willis movie actually where he actually says something about hating how Canadians put mayo on burgers). Personally I don't mind mayo on a burger but only if it's got lettuce and tomatoes.

US is too busy dipping fries into the stuff.

I've never understood that part of the movie (The Whole Nine Yards, IIRC). I've had burgers all over the US, and mayo on burgers is just as common down there as it is up here.

I have to entertain Americans throughout the year and it comes up often with them when out for lunch/dinner. Not as much as the inevitable ice tea conversation (we have the lipton sweetened stuff but they expect real tea as they drink a tonne of that stuff down south) but it does come up.
