Interesting. His first comment after the last CBA was signed stuck with me. Something to the effect of...I am glad I don't have to go through another CBA negotiation before I retire...

Worst part of Sportsnet winning the rights, was the loss of regular viewing of bob mckenzie. This is great news considering there were rumors of retirement.

He, Friedman and lebrun are the best at what they do, for me.

I assume TSN made it worth his while if he was previously considering retirement. He's definitely worth whatever they are paying him as he's the best insider of this era.

He's not retiring, but he is taking a step back.

Awesome news, one of the best in the business. Like everyone else I thought he was heading for retirement

That's fantastic news. Now TSN just needs to get more hockey rights back.

It’s like when Rick Nash was in Columbus or Gaborik was in Minnesota

Good player on a team you don’t have any real reason or desire to watch

I'd say I'm happy but I can't say I watch much TSN anymore. They have 5 channels, which outside of the CFL is right now dedicated to the World cup of rugby, ATP Tennis, Sportscentre for 3 hours a night, A Toronto based radio show and Jay and Day which is absolutely unwatchable.

Sportsnet must be like, what we can re-sign online talent?

That seems like a pretty good variety of things.
What are you wishing was on instead?

It’s also ignoring NHL, NFL, college football, F1, NASCAR, MLS.

And they had baseball up until a few days ago and NBA starts in a week or so.

Probably wants to continue to cover hockey now because the leafs finally have a chance to win in the next 5 years.

Sportsnet really dropped the ball by not acquiring Mackenzie when they got the rights. you are shelling out billions! They should have paid through the nose for him, and $20 for Dreger.
