Calgary Flames at Saint Louis Blues - 1:00 PM MST
Projected Lineups:
Calgary Flames:
https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/c...-combinations/
St. Louis Blues:
https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/s...-combinations/
This afternoon's game is the 2nd of a weekend afternoon back to back for the Flames. Will Backlund return? Will Rittich get his second start in as many days, or will Smith slot in, or perhaps Gillies?
The Flames continue to battle the Preds, the Jets, and the Avalanche for top team in the West, with a few other teams hovering close.
Discuss!

Was waiting patiently !!
I really hope that if Smith isn’t ready to go that they give Rittich an opportunity to win both games in a back to back scenario versus giving Gillies the nod; Ritter has earned it IMO and it would be smart to ride a hot hand right now.

Strange that the Flames seem to do well against the Central Division as a whole except against the Stars and Blues who for whatever reason are difficult matches for the Flames. Blues looked like world beaters when these teams met earlier in the season. As bad as the Blues are this season I can see them winning this one easily if the Flames don't put forth a better offensive effort than yesterday.

Backlund activated off IR. Should mean he is good to go tonight.
Gillies sent to Stockton, so at the minimum Smith backs up tonight or might even start.
Rychel might draw in for Mangiapane?

do any other two teams in the league have so many significant players in their history having played for both teams? Not just average or depth players either, but many Hall of Famers, top 6 forwards, top 4 D. One roster of Flames/Blues alumni would be filled with stars/superstars

Visit Reddit NHL streams. That is the best place to find a link to watch is you have any problems with blackouts/restrictions.

They’ve always been bigger teams and their star players have typically had size which seems to pose a problem for our smaller forwards and defensemen. Could be a reason why Rychel was called up as he’s a bigger body.

Why can’t you leave the tv on for Turtle? TV is the greatest babysitter off all time.

Flames are 5-10 in their last 15 visits to St. Louis, with 2 of those wins coming in OT.
They are 3-2 all time, however, on Sundays

The Flames are in a stretch where they're playing 5 out of 6 games against the Central Division.
