At least give names or the other player/team involved. Otherwise, dont post at all. I like when you post rumours but usually you give more details which makes it fun speculation.

Even assuming this is true, someone will see their role taken away. It might be Tkachuk or Lindholm taken off PP1, and then Neal taken off PP2. Suddenly you can't recoup any value for a James Neal who was starting to get a rhythm going on PP2. Or Suddenly Lindholm stops grossly overperforming his contract, which is a huge part of our success. If Lindy is back to a 45 pt forward with a reduced role, suddenly he's a glorified Frolik.

I don't think it's as simple as "add a great player and the team is unstoppable". Ice time is finite.

To be a great team you need players overperforming their contract cap hits. Right now we have five PPG players on the team, and we won't have six if we just add Stone.

Now am I pro Stone? Yes; I just think expectations have to be measured for what kind of impact he can make.

Lucic has been awful for so long, there is literally no chance he turns it around. And he makes more than Neal.

Neal hasn't been producing, but at least he isn't a liability either, and I would put my money on him turning it around before Lucic does.

The trade deadline should be a fun few days for me since the Flames are the contenders for once, but all I'm feeling is scared that they will give up Kylington, Andersson, Valimaki or Dube for a rental. I'm less concern about giving up a 1st rounder for a rental.
