BU goaltender Keiran Millan was the last freshman to win Hockey East MVP in 2009. Not sure what MVP they are talking about

And i hope it has nothing to do with Kobasew

It happens. I played basketball/volleyball with a guy in high school who was 5 foot 8. On the strength of his 3 point shooting he landed a spot on the NAIT team. A year later we ran into each other, he was 6 foot 4.

All the time, I was about 5'11 when I turned 18. by 20 I was 6'1. Never understood why people think you stop growing at 17-18...thats for girls.

Great job Johnny! Imagine how much better he's going to be next season for Boston.

He's definitely a long term project, but it would be pretty awesome if he developed into something special (a Marty St. Louis type)

I was the same, when I turned 18, I was 5'8", when I turned 19 I was 6'3"
It's normal
If Gaudreau gets up to 5'8, or 5'9 he'll be fine. He'll probably be fine now even though he's so short.

Gaudreau's biggest assets are his speed and puck-handling.
He won a USHL Championship last year and a Hockey East Championship this year.
He knows how to win.

BC vs Maine
Here are the highlights from tonight's game. What a phenomenal pass by Gaudreau on the third BC goal. And honestly, he doesn't look that small either.
Interview
Starts at ~ 1:35
More Johnny Gaudreau
The presentations. Basically a big Johnny Gaudreau love-fest . He has a brief interview at ~ the 28 second mark.

Judging by his progress (coming on late in the season) he should be ready to turn pro in another year. Just hope his body matures as fast as his game.

And yet he was not rookie of the year. Wonder why. Too stacked a team?

I like how he doesn't just stay in the outside and shoots pucks, he goes into the gritty areas to score goals.

Flames Prospect Report: Johnny Gaudreau
Quote:
“I really don’t like hearing that I’m too small and so I tend to let it go in one ear and out the other,” said Gaudreau.
“I use these comments as motivation to prove to people that they are wrong.”
|
Quote:
Despite having such a strong season Gaudreau has remained humble over the accolades he has received.
“It’s been a great experience, I’ve been playing with great players,” said Gaudreau.
“The position I’ve been in with great coaching and players have helped me to be successful.”
|
Quote:
“It was definitely the Coach (Jerry York) that helped me make my choice, I grew up watching him and Boston College,” said Gaudreau.
“I’ve just always wanted to go there and the whole coaching staff helped me make my decision.”
|
Quote:
“It was a really great experience being at camp, I think it helped a lot in getting me ready for college,” said Gaudreau.
“I was really excited to be there and to play.”
|
Quote:
“I’m very excited for the tournament, we’re a very close team and we’ve been playing very well together,” said Gaudreau.
“There’s always pressure in being number one but we’re just going to take it one game at a time.
