How about potential and all that fun stuff?
Also, from my limited viewings, Gaudreau is a better passer and stick-checker than hey give him credit for.

His potential should be 5 red stars. But it's probably 4.5.
edit: I downloaded the roster and it's 4 red stars. Lame.

Honest question. People talk about his size as if he's more likely to get hurt because of his small size, but is that true? Looking at injuries this year, it seems like bigger players get hurt more. What about a smaller frame makes it more fragile? If muscles/flexibility are built at the same ratios, it stands to reason to me that injury risk is the same. I'd be more worried about play style anyways. A grinding player will get hurt a lot more than a shifty skilled player I would assume

Smaller players are often smarter about protecting themselves as well as more elusive. A hulk like Eric Lindros was used to running over people and thought he was invulnerable. Once other players discovered he had a glass jaw, they realized how easy it was to hit such a large target and it made a satisfying thump too. Crash and bang forwards also often hurt themselves trying for the 'big' hit.

I agree that the passing and stick checking should go up. I also would add that his defensive awareness should at least be 80 and speed should at least be 88, he's a pretty quick guy.

He doesn't develop too well. The max I've gotten him to in a GM mode is 81 . He's fun to play with though!
I guess the world championships start up in around a week? I look forward to watching Johnny and Moneyhands.

That is the same rank my Monahan got to as well. What a joke. Corbin Knight developed into a 87.

Guys, you must remember that EA sports is based in Vancouver. Of course they're going to make Flames players garbage.

Anyone here gonna be at the prospect or training camp this year? I'm getting a Gaudreau 53 jersey and won't be able to attend either for work reasons. If I mailed the jersey to one of you guys, could you get it signed for me?

Bigger players tend to get hurt more often, because they play a more physical game, because their bigger frame is better used for it.
Look at it this way, A compact car, and a truck are built of the same material, and to meet the same safety standards, but trucks are going to end up in the shop for minor repairs more often, because they are used in a rougher manner. But, when that truck gets in a head on collision with that compact car, it's the truck that is driving away.
Since there are more "BIG" players in the NHL, you'll see a lot more minor injuries to those big players, but in cases when it's the small player being injured, it's more likely to be a serious injury.

Then your jersey will be a classic like the 24 Iginla jersey. Nothing wrong with that!
