I just hope they make it clear that the Oilers are not in the playoffs unless/until they win the play-in round.
More clear how? The league has already described the purpose of the play-in round pretty explicitly. If the Oilers and their fans haven't figured out the obvious by now, they never will.

Can confirm the Flames will not be wearing their retro jerseys in this year's playoffs. Originally the plan was to do so but I'm told that it was thrown out of whack by COVID.
They also asked if they could wear the Heritage Classic jerseys as their road uniforms in the playoffs and were denied from the get-go.

Doesnt bother me at all. I dont care if they are wearing the pedestal snot horse combo jersey. I think it's amazing that we can see them play meaningful games in two more weeks.
The last time ol blasty was on the uniform, the team went to the SCF. So just saying.
Unfortunately this is not the case. The Flames lost to the Mighty Ducks in the first round in 2006.

The NHL had very specific rules for the bubbles, unfortunately.
I actually think the Flames win pretty easily, and probably lose 1 game tops. Winnipeg has been decimated at the blue line by Chevy not properly preparing, and injury, and Buff being Buff. Probably a good time to roll the dice on getting a possible high pick and reloading the D corps with a trade or draft pick. Would prefer to win, but, if there was any time to lose in the "playoffs" a play in series on neutral ice with no fans is a low price to pay. Go Jets! But ya not holding my breath.

The thing that confuses me is why Arizona is allowed to bring their thirds in but the Flames can't.

Hellebuyck has the chance to be the difference. It will also depend on if the Flames top 6 can get rid of their playoff demons.

Easy to win for the Flames if ward can get them to stand in front of the net, stop relying on perimeter shots , screen, bump and be nasty....
If you don't think our goalie isnt gonna get all of the above your wrong.
This is where I think Talbot might be better suited for the series. I love Dave but sometimes he let's opposing teams live rent free in his head too much.
Yeah the Jets have a great goalie ....but if we let him see all the shots he'll seem like an all world beater and the Flames will just be beating themselves.
Seen it too too many times before . Goalies that even arrnt that good made to look awesome because we don't make it hard on them.
That would be the most Jason Kenney thing ever, SuperMatt.
But I think it probably has to do with the logistics of bringing in twice as many sets of pants and gloves into the bubble. I imagine laundry will be crazy enough as it stands. The Flames' current home/away rotation uses the same gloves and pants, but the retro reds use red pants and gloves which would have doubled the Flames' cleaning load if used in conjunction with the standard white kits. Of course you'd think the additional laundry concerns might have been abated if the Flames were allowed to use their retro white kits, which also use the red pants and gloves, but it doesn't sound like the NHL was ever going to allow them to use those.
