You have that correct.

Now that it's after 5:00pm ET, I assume this is the full list now (with Domi still in the maybe group).

I figured most would go with 3 to be honest. Five seems like overkill.

THis is only for training camp though. Teams will trim their roster for their bubble roster for the return to play.

So that's what, 7 players that opted out?

Six. It looks like Trotman was misreported as an opt-out, but he's unavailable due to injury: https://www.pensburgh.com/2020/7/11/...return-to-play
Six players opted out, 4 have some ties to Calgary: - Former Hitman, Karl Alzner
- Former Flame, Sven Baertschi
- Current Flame, Travis Hamonic
- Calgary native, Mike Green
The other opt-outs were Steven Kampfer and Roman Polak, as well as Panthers' Assistant Coach, Mike Kitchen. Max Domi's status is still TBD.
https://www.tsn.ca/list-of-nhl-playe...play-1.1494505
Hamonic and Polak are the only ones to opt out who played more than 10 games with their current NHL team this season (Green has 50 GP, but only 2 with the Oilers).

FWIW, Shaw has a concussion.

Teams often use extra goalies for practice. It also allows the playoff goalies to nurture minor injuries or go off to do drills with the goalie goach without interrupting practice.
I'm guessing some of the teams with just 3 goalies have a coach who can double as a practice goalie or something.

Smart move for Shaw, you only have one brain, take the extra time and make sure you're as good as possible.

Sort of OT, but I seem to recall that teams used to have a skater that was designated to put on the pads if it ever came down to that. I can't find any information on this though. Did I dream that?

No, it's true.
About 10 years back, Gio was the designated guy for the Flames.

I missed it earlier but Crawford is unfit to play. With Lehner traded, who’s going to play goal for them?

Subban and Delia. As long as one gets hot they should be able to keep them in a few games. Far from an ideal situation for Chicago though.
