If they do go with Warriors, I could see them using the spear logo they used in the late 60s, and wore again as an anniversary logo a few years ago.

I didn't know they ever had a spear logo, that would make a ton of sense

I heard that Redtails is a possibility. A few years ago Redhawks was being tossed around too.

On July 3rd, we announced the commencement of a thorough review of the team's name. That review has begun in earnest. As part of this process, we want to keep our sponsors, fans and community apprised of our thinking as we go forward.
Today, we are announcing we will be retiring the Redskins name and logo upon completion of this review.
Dan Snyder and Coach Rivera are working closely to develop a new name and design approach that will enhance the standing of our proud, tradition rich franchise and inspire our sponsors, fans and community for the next 100 years.

If it’s good enough for my old high school, it’s good enough for an NFL team.

The problem with Warriors is that there's already a pretty successful pro sports team out there with that name.
For one thing, they wouldn't be able to get the warriors.com domain name. They would also have overlaps with Golden State for anyone who just types "warriors" into Google.
Golden State also owns all the @warriors social media handles.
I'm not sure what value those sorts of things have, but I'd guess it will be a factor.

If the team had any brains or understanding of the issues, they would walk away as far as possible from the Warriors and this imagery. It is phenomenally tone deaf, which I know shouldn't be a surprise, but still.
Keep the colour scheme, ditch the alliteration and just start over. Maybe try and pick a name that isn't already associated with another professional sports team? Someone joked that Steph Curry should be the mascot if they went with the Warriors. Bang on.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

They can add a descriptive colour designation like the Las Vegas NHL team did to differentiate themselves from the OHL London Knights.
I give you the Washington Golden Warriors.

I misread that as ROAD Warriors. But that'd be a cool name, and they could keep the colour scheme!

Maybe it's already been pointed out in this thread, but the Washington NFL team has a long history of racism. In the '60's, they were the last NFL team to hire a black player, and the team owner wanted to keep it as an all white team to cater to their southern US fan base. A Washington sportswriter who didn't get along with the owner wrote that the team colours were "burgundy gold and Caucasian".
