Default Saving A YouTube Video For Use In Windows Movie Maker?

I was going to use some footage I found on YouTube in a video I'm making on Windows Movie Maker. I tried downloading the video and converting it to a .avi file on Vixy.net, but it still won't let me play the video on Windows Media Player or Movie Maker.

Does anyone know how I can save a YouTube video as a .wmv file? If so, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

I did it. Cant rember off the top of my head but I found out on google.

Actually I think I had to use my Creator 8 program to convert it to avi.

Isn't there an add on for firefox that allows you to record such things?

I think I used vixy.net, then videora's converter for XBOX. I remember doing it, I just don't remember exactly how either.

Isn't there an option to download to avi on vixy?

Yeah, there is an option to download the videos as .avi files. I thought that would work, but I guess I need them to be .wmv files to work on Windows Movie Maker.

If anyone knows how I could download the clips as .wmv files (or even how to convert the .avi to a .wmv), it would be much appreciated.

Thanks again!

You need FLV splitter and a FLV video converter.
