Sadly, I start 10 in a row of 2nd shifts tonight, and will have to catch the game either via streaming on my work computer, between tasks, or from recorded DVR. I will be lurking CP on a tablet, but, IDK how much I will be able to comment in the GT.

As far as the game, Robin Lehner has missed a couple of practices, as he tweaked his right knee in the game in Calgary. Crawford started Sunday, with AHLer Kevin Lankinen as backup. I would not be surprised to see the same tonight.

Much else will be the same, with perhaps one bottom pair D-Man swapped out, as my guys are carrying 7 D on the roster.

Good luck to your guys, and I hope to catch up comments on the PGT, if I am unable to post from work in real time.

Crawford starting should be good news for the Flames. Lehner has been the far better goalie of the 2 this year so far. Once he's healthy I'm guessing he will be getting 2/3's or more of the work the rest of the way.

Which makes the Canucks scarier IMO. The Flames that year were clearly unsustainable, Hartley had them on all offense all the time because the goaltending was so poor. This year's Canucks are far more balanced, if the Flames make the playoffs I really don't want that matchup

I hope we see these lines tonight -

Gaudreau - Monahan - Dube
Tkachuk - Bennett - Mangiapane
Jankowski - Backlund - Lindholm
Lucic - Ryan - Rieder

that 3rd line is a complete waste of lindholm. No way in hell does Bennett get lindys spot.

Ehh I’m not worried about the Canucks, we can take em. Only team in our division I’d be worried about playing is Vegas to be honest.

Hopefully we get out of the first period tonight with less than 3 goals scored against us, then we’ll have a chance.

Anyway, we need every point we can get.
Athletic has a mid-season article today predicting what teams will improve/stay same/regress in the 2nd half. Canucks had the easiest first half schedule (.489) and Oilers 2nd easiest (.490). Both teams see their 2nd half schedules ramp up considerably to .510 (Canucks) and .513 (Oilers). Flames first half schedule was 16th (.498) and 2nd half schedule is 4th easiest at .492 so things could look a little different by April but the Flames need to start getting better goaltending to take advantage.

The pairing I've wanted for about a year now, is Bennett and Tkachuk. They both work the corners well, and all they need is a sniper in the middle to bury all of the dishes from behind the net and top of the circle. If only we had one of those.

Tkachuk - Monahan - Bennett
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Mangiapane
Jankowski - Backlund - Dube
Lucic - Ryan - Rieder

I don't know (with all of the blenders) why this is never a thing.

Lindholm will be playing in his 500th career game tonight. Neat little milestone.

The Flames had better slightly goaltending in 2014/15 than the Canucks have now.

Flames: 2.46 GAA / .915 Sv%
Canucks: 2.76 GAA / .915 Sv%
