Lol.. this team is going absolutely no where this year.. and they are not going to suck enough to get a top pick.

How many times will they get shutout this year? Treliving should get his ass fired for all of this supposed "depth".

For a team with that has some talented individuals they sure go down easy getting shut out fairly regularity (five times already this season). I'm fine with riding this season out and seeing if they can maybe scratch and claw for a wild card birth and maybe overachieve in the playoffs but I'm ready. I'm ready for some dismantling as this group has gone as far as it's going to go and I'm ready for changes in the offseason. I just don't enjoy watching this group go through the motions like they have for most of this season.

At least the Flames out-hit the Wild.
I've been told you usually win when you do that.

Playing on a b2b that starts 2 hours earlier that the previous days start time is ridiculous especially when the other team is sitting and waiting

Team tank is back in business boys! But in all seriousness screw the schedule makers..... Dallas to Minnesota in less than 24 hours. What a joke this league is.

Agreed. Not sure why the fall off so badly when they do but changes will be needed at the end of this season. Too much of the " I worked Saturday so I shouldn't have to work Sunday" mentality.

Disappointed, but not surprised. The good news is that the entire season series will be over in a couple of weeks. Not going to be negative. There is enough of that on this site. Merry Christmas, everyone.

Less than 24 hours between games with travel from Dallas to Minnesota during that time. Bull####.

Playing B2B is a reason not not an excuse. Remember these players are professionals training all summers for fitness. Completely disappearing after a good game is inexcusable. Not only they cannot generate scoring chances but also they can hardly make a pass. I say this team is as bad as the Oilers except our goal tenders are better.

I can’t remember the last time that hanifin had a good shift, let alone a good game. What the hell happened to this guy?

I will never understand why defenseman at the point in the offensive zone are stationary. Just because you are at the point and supporting the attack doesn’t mean you remain stationary. You should still be moving your feet and be in motion hovering around the point so you aren’t caught flat footed.

Some of these great skaters are really guilty of standing still thinking they can quickly start things up and move. You should always be in motion, always moving your feet.

Enough of Backlund on the first line. 2 goals in 29 games.

A glorious chance created by JG early in the second could’ve changed the game, and Backlund whiffs on it.

There needs to be a finisher on that line and that’s not Backlund.
I’d rather have a top line with all the eggs in a basket then a top line that really is missing 1/3 of the line.

And get someone to play with Tkachuk on the second line.

NHL mandated loss, felt like one of those NBA games where they rested all the stars. Outside of Tkachuk, Lindholm and Gio, Flames don’t have a lot of guys that step up when the going gets tough...

Somewhat an expected outcome given the short turnaround.

I would love a league explanation on the non call where Johny was tripped and it should have been a 5-3. Cassies logic made absolutely no sense at all with "well maybe the ref thought Talbot had got in the way of the wild player".

Very well could have been a turning point in the game for the flames, was once again watched by the official so no excuse to "miss it" and was as black and white of a trip as it gets.

Holy overreaction Batman. A split on 2 games within 20 hours isn’t the end of the world. I don’t like the amount of shutouts this year either, but at the end of the day, they’re still in a playoff spot and are 8-3-1 over their last 12. Beat Edmonton on Friday and tonight’s game is forgiven.
