Who cares about other teams winning. The oilers could win out and it wouldn't bother me. The Playoffs are a different beast, who ever plays the Flames will have to be ready for a fight.

Thank you Kypreos for pointing out what everyone should be aware of. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Still think it's crazy how close the Oilers were to getting Laine or Matthews, very fair league this is

All I care is playoff success had enough regular season success in the 90s and 00s that amounted nowhere in April. Oilers can win all they want just not in the playoffs. Had enough of that crap in the 80s.

I still don't understand how people see McDavid as better than Crosby... I'd put him more on Malkin's level, myself... which is still amazing, of course, but I just don't see 'best player in the world' when I watch him play... whatever.

Basically that Oilers are a one line team and if they're gonna do anything in the playoffs, they can't expect that line to be the only ones to contribute and carry the team.

That the Oilers are a one line show...and if the other lines don't get going they are vulnerable.

BOA would be a crazy series, hopefully it happens.

To be fair, I feel like the Flames would put up a better fight than San Jose or Anaheim did the past two games. It would be intense.
Starting to feel like Alberta is trending to overtake California. All three of those teams are aging, while the Alberta teams are only getting faster. Cali teams don't seem to have an answer for it some nights like they once did.

3M line with Gio and Dougie will shut them down

That they don't have a legit top six right now. A "one man band".

So he gets a max contract offer right? Averaging 2pts a game over the last 9 when it matters the most.
Coincidentally the same 9 that the Oilers just went 8 - 1.
He is that team.

What pisses me off is every man and his dog knows that without refs deciding they needed to give the Oilers one more chance on the powerplay on a ticky tack call, you know the Ducks lock that game down and hand team lottery ball a loss.

Speed trumps heaviness in the new NHL......but you still need some heaviness, just not at the expense of speed and skill. The Flames seem to have struck the right balance on this.
