The funniest part is the Queen of Access Journalism, Maggie Haberman, tweeted the headline, then after getting lit up on Twitter actually did some critical thinking. This is a Hail Mary from Giuliani, they only want people to see the headline and not actually read.
Anyone have any non-paywall sources that describe exactly what we know and why it is an issue?

They're banking on a repeat of "but her emails" among the few voters that they may be able to swing. However, it's more than likely that anyone who could be swayed by that were already firmly in Trump's camp.
On another note, hearing Ted Cruz speak today reminds me of what an insufferable a-hole he is. Just a smarmy, slimy little weasel. Even if he could be right on a point or two, his delivery is so disgusting I just want to smack him across the face.

I'll probably regret asking this, but why is this a non-story? Is it normal that the son of a powerful political figure be given a high paying job that he is in no way qualified for by a company that wants (and supposedly got) access to his father?
Because its bull####? It's the very story I talked about in the credibility of The Hill in a post yesterday.

Jimmy Finklestein is a bit of political hack and has gone full Roger Ailes on multiple occasions, instructing his journalists how to cover stories and the spin they would put on them. He's gone full tabloid at other times, cutting his journalists right out of the loop and publishing content not suitable for the bottom of a birdcage including an expose on how the Democrats colluded with the Ukrainians to interfere in the 2016 election rather than Russians. This was content was provided by Rudy Guliani to John Solomon. The Hill is really a bit of a #### show and it has ben rumored to be on the market for the past couple of years. No one appears willing to touch it as its reputation has turned tabloid to toxic in DC circles.
This is the exact same story with the exact same people peddling it to the same tabloid level publications. It was proven to be crap when Solomon tried to peddle this through The Hill, and its just as much crap now. Hey, if a lie gets told enough times, regardless of the proof to the counter, the lie will be accepted by the intellectually lazy and ignorant as if it were factual, just because they have heard it from multiple sources.

Keep drinking that Trump Kool-aid.
Biden was perfectly qualified to sit on a board of a company, especially when brought in explicitly to deal with corporate governance. He was part of a high profile law firm that had been party to some significant anti-trust and corporate governance litigation in the US, all the way to the Supreme court.
Having no specific experience in an industry does not disqualify someone from being able to add value to a board of governors. It's the reason most boards try to be as diverse as possible in the viewpoints and expertise of it's members.
Yes he was the son of the vice-President, but trying to pawn off "he wasn't" qualified is just lazy and inaccurate, a message for the masses who have no idea about the complexities of what a board does.
I guess it reached its target audience.

Ah yes - "innocent" credulity given to bad faith actors.

Yes, this applies to every kid of every President ever, if they got a job working as a line cook at Mc D's you can be sure Ronald was thinking 'I dont give a damn whether he/she can cook, it's got to be useful to have a President's kid on the payroll!' there is no job anywhere in the world that a Biden, Bush, Clinton, Obama or Reagan can apply for where their parent wouldnt be a factor in the decision to hire them even if they themselves had no intention of using their parents influence and were wholly qualified to do the job

Totally missed this last night, but this seems like Trump's "Please Clap" moment of the election, although he'll probably produce several more as he gets more desperate.
These arguments made by Whitehouse in the Barrett hearing are super interesting. That guy is doing some good work. Worthy of more people watching and discussing them.
