That makes sense after watching this one. Unnecessary filler episode that would make the writers of TWD proud. Kind of bummed that I have to wait two weeks for a real episode.

back in the old days, shows used to be 20 or more episodes a season, at least half or more of which was filler. I'll take one or two episodes that don't move the main storyline, as long as it still entertains me and I learn a bit more about the characters.

Yeah I thought it was a good episode. Nice to see more of a glimpse into character personal lives and get away from the football themed drama a bit.
Although one thing I’ve missed about streaming shows in general is Christmas themed episodes actually timed with Christmas.

I guess it was better than an episode of flashbacks.

if Ted Lasso did a clip show episode, people would cancel their Apple subscriptions.

"Dithering Cash Troll" is a term I have to find an opportunity to use.
This was a good Ted episode. I'll take the odd throw-away show for these ones.

I think Keeley said “ #### you’re amazing, let’s invade France?”

Yeah definitely. Honestly been kind of dreading it the whole time. The show bucks so many conventions that I was hoping the whole “friends that didn’t think they would fall in love” thing wouldn’t go down. But you can kind of see it from the beginning.
That said, I was smiling all the way thru this episode.

I'm hoping they just subvert that thought. There were very obvious clues dropped all episode, so holding out hope it's misdirection.

That’s what I thought as well. Showing both of them texting at the same time and smiling was almost too obvious.
I think they’ll continue to lean into the misdirection and then hit us with a slight Lasso-sized twist.

I think it'll be Coach Beard.

Brilliant. Didn’t even think of that.
They did make a point of throwing in a line about him no longer with his girlfriend.

Yeah, Beard is IMO one of the two likely candidates. Agree with the sentiment that Ted's probably a misdirection. As we learned kinda graphically from Sassy, Ted doesn't have a different side; he's the same persona even in intimate contexts.
The person in the series most likely to quote Rilke, IMO:
