Blasty was a low budget, desperate attempt, as was the introduction of black in the uniform in 1995, by an out of touch, underfunded, Flames marketing department to try and be “cool”.
The fact that in that era, this organization had no red jersey of any sort, from Fall 2000 to Fall 2003, is inexcusable.

Remember that really ugly Blues jersey that Mike Keenan wouldn't even let them wear?
You guys are all no fun.
It's a 1-2 game fun jersey, bringing back Wild Wing is amazing.
Looking at the Ducks jersey though and it makes me think the Flames Blasty will be just Red/Yellow/White with no black then. Ryan Popowich tweeted that the team doesn't have a black jersey because the team colours are Red/Yellow/White and I think they will lean into the "Full Retro" colors as part of this now then as well.

If we’re talking logos that look like children drew them, that one is a pre-school class submission.
Are we talking about the green jersey from the original movie? If so, that's one talented pre-schooler who drew the logo. I don't think I can even draw something like that as an adult.
I love the idea of a wacky fourth jersey. Make sure the regular home and away jerseys are nice, have a nice third, and then a wacky fourth that you wear once or twice a year for 2-3 years then switch it up to another wacky design.
We could have yellow Flames jerseys and Blasty with pedestals. It would be amazing.
As long as they don’t overdo it. Make the jerseys last 5-6 games over 2-3 years. Don’t give us a new one every year that we only wear once.

Just a note about using black around the hem and sleeves instead of red -- it'll look different if a player is wearing black pants and black gloves. In other words, just because the jersey alone looks nice on paper doesn't mean it'll look good on the ice -- sometimes its better to have some contrast...
My thinking when designing that one was they could potentially wear red gloves and pants for contrast. Would be interesting to see what it actually looks like on ice
