If I’m Columbus it would take an A+ return to trade PLD this early in season. They have him signed for 2 more years at a great cap hit. It’s not like he is a UfA at end of season. While I would do Mony + a 1st right now I would bet that Columbus at this stage of game would want more. If rumours are true that Montreal would consider Suzuki + for PLD then it’s going to cost a lot right now. Not saying Suzuki is better than Mony ,but his cap hit of under $900,000 for the next 2 years ,during these flat cap times, is huge. Not to mention he would still be RFA after that. I don’t think Montreal should consider trading him for these very reasons.

The Jackets would laugh?! I think the Flames would balk at that sort of ask. Mangiapane already looks like a bonafide top-six winger with more upside, and Valimaki looks like he could be an elite defenseman. This is a terrible deal.

Oh I know, if his pouty trade me play continues, then you would think there may be some cause for concern. It isn't like he isn't given the opportunity being 1C. He has a couple games against the red wings now. We will see if he turns it around.
