Flames lose this one. Closed door meetings happen Tuesday morning including AHL call ups etc, Flames go back to being an elite team.

I don’t know about AHL callups. Not much this team can do with their cap situation. You can play Czarnik but he’s not the answer to any question worth asking. Maybe he gets sent down for Quine who can play in place of Jankowski.

I think they respond with a much better game than last night.

The shark tank is a tough place for the Flames, but they have won 4 of the last 10 times they have been there.

If I'm Peters I put Frolik on the right of Backlund and Tkachuk, and leave him there the whole game. Run the top 2 lines the same way all game and then swirl the bottom 6 guys around all game until you see something that suggests they might work...and stick with it.

Hell, maybe even try Bennett in the middle between Jankowski and Mangiapane.....just something to completely shake it up. It cannot be any worse than its been.

Put the lines with the most proven chemistry out there. Keep Bennett & Jankowski on 4L. Limit your mistakes. Give a ####.

Win or lose tonight, I just want to see the team show up for a full 60 minutes for once, and be ready to play. Surely that's not too much to ask?

Outside of Jankowski, i think the effort has been there (ignoring first periods of course).

I feel the flames bigger issues are tactical. Opposition has learned a lot from the avs on how to pin this team, disrupting/slowing down the flames breakouts. Flames are a fast skating team, like most teams team speed isn't about personnel, as much as it is the ability to break out with speed off a few quick, short passes to guys with forward momentum built up.

Until Peters comes up with something to adapt the adjustments teams have made, the flames will try and try, but look like they are getting nothing done (like the avs series).

Flames lose this one. 3 in 4, b2b against a team hungry to get going. I think the coaching getd back to cgy and the team sorts itself after a few practices.

#Flames coach Bill Peters: "We didn't play hard enough. Until we start to play hard, and play hard for 60 minutes, it's going to be up in the air all night long or you're going to get blown out. We've got to develop a little bit of a work ethic here."

It's not all that obvious with TheRealPepman.

I think at 2-2-1, "treading water" would have been more fitting for the motif

maybe it would've been more obvious that I was being facetious if I had properly used an accent grave?

Let's try being a hard team to play against tonight. Shake off those Vegas hangovers and take it out on the Sharks. Make a statement tonight.

It's the start of the season, so can take some time for the team to gel, but the Flames issue as was in the first round is that the team is extremely reliant on the first line being able to contribute. If you shut down that line, you win the game by default since the other three lines are no threat at all.

I hope Peter isn't hesitant in altering the first line to provide more balance throughout the line so then the team isn't a one line team only. With Monahan, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, and Lindholm in your top 6, there should be a combination that can work where you have two actual scoring lines. Gotta hope there's a player on the team that can be like Ferland was here. On their own without much offensive support, they don't amount to much, but if you surround him around offensive players that can set them up, they can be a finisher.

And this has always been the problem with the team. Last year they spoiled us with the regular season which was the first season in years that was pretty enjoyable to watch. Not enough Players with the Giordano attitude, and with elite offensive skills. It is what it is. Treliving has for the most part done a pretty good job building the team. But I’m sure left wanting more from this crew.
