850 is a fair number for Mangiapane- let's get him to camp Brad!

It seems like a small amount, but if GMBT does this for all qualifying offers and all players accept(which isn't realistic) then the next set of QO's is increased and eats away cap space.

Keep doing what he has been doing and don't change a thing. Mangiapane has 0 leverage and is coming off as a bit of a possible future problem in contract negotiations.

Dube - Jankowski - Smith-Pelly/Czarnik
Mangiapane - Ryan - Lucic
Ideally I would like to see Mangiapane - Bennett - X be a line. I really hope it's something Peters experiments with in preseason.

I was going to try to make a well-supported case for this, if the stats bear it out, but I haven't got in done/found the stats I'd need, so here's my idea:

Gaudreau-Backlund-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Monahan-Frolik

Specifically so we can deploy it against teams with two-way first lines, on the road especially. If they want to defend Gaudreau with their top option, they'll in turn be facing a Selke candidate/possession monster in Backlund. Might even look for a way to replace Frolik with Ryan on the second line to shore up the transition game.

The Flames were highest scoring team in the WC last year, and will return with their same forward group intact. I don't really see the need to reconstruct the top six given how good they were last year.

I had not realized Travis Hamonic speaks French. Makes sense though, given he's Metis from Manitoba.

Rinaldo is really well spoken, seems like he has a great attitude. Interesting to hear him and MacDonald blown away by Peters' practice style.

Wouldn’t mind Ronaldo & DSP working in and out of the lineup all year tbh.

Tkachuk, Bennett, Lucic, Ronaldo, Gio, Hamonic, Stone, DSP are all super hard to play against and annoying af. Makes up for the pillowy soft (but awesome) top line.

I'm not sure how to upload it, but Stone's interview is quite emotional. What a turn of events for the guy

When Tkachuk and Eat bread get into camp we will officially have a crazy deep offence.

That is a very good looking line-up.

Janko will have his work cut out for him to keep up to 2 guys that had the higher scores on fitness

Stone has always been a weird player to me.

The guy has skill, always has but his game is not skill based.

He also has an absolute bomb but aims as well as Dion.

I hope he put in lots of skating work during his absence because prior to his injury he was a very good #5 defender and with an extra stride could be an excellent defender who could move up in a pinch.

Win the face off, pass the puck, skate to the middle for a feed or rebound, profit.

At the Dome today. Wolf all by himself watching the zamboni finish up before second practice.

Peters had to use some colourful metaphors during the first practice. ☺ Guess he is ready for the season.

And yet the top 9 was shockingly ineffective in the playoffs. Since playoffs are the only thing that matters a change up of the top few lines in order to be harder to shut down in the playoffs has a lot of merit.

I suppose it depends upon what you believe happened in the playoffs. I continue to believe that there was a lot more to the Flames’s collapse than simple line matching. In many respects the Flames beat themselves in that series.
