I had no idea where Seton even was. Then I looked it up. God that must be a horrible place to live.

Cecil, you go on a tirade about taking the stink out of theaters and then you throw in that weed should be allowed? The stink of that crap is stronger than all of the others combined!

I like the idea of not having to hear babies wailing or teens yakking and playing with their phones.
The thought of having a brew or two during the movie is also nice, though I imagine the prices will not be nice. The parallel universe where popcorn and soda are rarer than platinum.
I do like vegging at home but every once in a while you gotta get out and see it on the big screen. Make an event of it, go with friends, or a date.
I live in the south so the location is fine by me.

Actually I was thinking of a smoking room. I used to work at a place that had one.
I guess reserved seats kinda solves the problem though.

Cecil, I'm afraid you and your weed are going into the dome.

We have one of these here called cinebistro. Prices are reasonable, only 12.50. Huge leather recliner with swing out table, all the leg room you'd need and reserved seats. Waiters serve pretty good food and drinks up until the movie starts. And if you get a pitcher, it comes on a stand and has one of those cooling cylinders built in the middle to keep it cold for the movie. It has ruined every regular theater for me.

Ya out of all the options listed in the OP, this is the only one where I'd be willing to pay a little more.
I mentioned this in TDKR thread, but its seriously to the point now where I won't even see a big hit movie until its been out for almost a month because its getting ridiculously bad for chatting/laughing/crying/6 year olds asking non-stop Q's in movies we've been seeing. Crap drives me up the wall.
That's the only part that worries me about booze being allowed in that one theatre. Having 1-2 is perfect for a flick, but people who abuse it & get drunk are gonna be brutal. In my experience, getting your drunk on & sitting quietly watching a movie are opposing ideas.

I love the idea of a theatre in Seton (I live in Cranston) and any form of pre-assigned seating. Brilliant.

Who still goes to the theater? Most of the movies today are remakes, sequels or total manure.

I already do. It's called buying the Blu-ray and staying home to watch movies. The crowds are light. The food and beverages are always exactly what I want at that time. And the floor is a little less sticky.

You can drink in theaters in Italy. It's kind of weird to drink at a theater, but when in Rome.
The downside to drinking during a movie is that you have to piss. What they do is have a 10 minute intermission in the middle of the movie. Kinda cool. You can take a leak and get another beer, while Cecil goes and blazes.
But watching movies at home is better anyway. I don't care if I have to wait two years to see what you guys are excited about this week, I'd much rather wait and watch it with my pause button, my fridge, and my kitchen. This VIP experience sounds great and all, but I'm just not into movies enough to drive to Seton, or to pay the premium.

So my reward for paying extra for the seat is an expanded menu of outrageously overpriced food and drinks? Pass.

Why not spend the time and effort for more cash on making better movies. I buy good movies.

Unfortunately society is still somewhat uncomfortable with public nudity, so I will continue to ignore these rules, and stay at home and be comfortable....

The ones in Iceland are pretty similar, but not as fancy as this. I prefer to pay a bit more for those kick ass seats though.

I think you might be confused on the difference between studios and theaters.
Also, bigger budgets =/= better films.

We have a theatre here at home called "The Moore Warren Theatre". It has one of the nation's biggest and newest IMAX screens. The reason I am telling you about this is they have balcony seating in 1 ( maybe 2) of the their grand auditorium theatre. Balcony seats are huge , think your recliner at home. You also have a tray area at every seat with a full service kitchen and bar with a waitress there to serve you. It's a bit more expensive. I know my wife got a "night out" gift cert for her birthday last year. I think it was 80 bucks for two tickets, two appetizers, two entrees, two desserts, and two drinks. 80 bucks is far lower than what you would normally spend on a night out so I guess that is a good deal . If there is a movie screening Im really excited about I would buy the tickets to the balcony ( see The Hobbit) . It also screens OU/TX games and also i think it screened the NBA finals because the Thunder were playing.
Here is the pricing
Ticket Prices
Balcony (Matinee) $12.00
Balcony (Evening) $18.00
VIP Tickets not allowed
for Balcony Show
IMAX PRICES
3D IMAX PRICES:
Adult (Matinee) - $13.00
Adult (Evening) - $16.00
Senior - $13.00
Child - $12.00
2D IMAX PRICES:
Adult (Matinee) - $10.00
Adult (Evening) - $13.00
Senior - $10.00
Child - $9.00
They also have director suite only movies. They are 22 bucks a seat. These look like the balcony seats but its a whole theatre full of them and all of them recline. Only certain ones do in the balcony I believe.
