I would pay the $5 more too to get away from annoying people.

Based what I could see the price to get into the u.timate movie experience is $16.
As I recall the price of a pop is about $5 (makes the price of mix at the superstore liquor shop reasonable), so I'd have to assume that one ounce of the finest rum would be about $8 so you are already $30 in and you still need something to eat.
Finally cineplex odeon has devised a way to make an evening at the movies run a hundred, congrats.....

More reason to invest ones own dollars into a large flat screen and a Blu Ray player.

As valo said they have this in Australia, called gold class.
excellent for date night and worth the premium for the seats & service.

Most of these extra benefits I can get at home for free without having to leave my house to drive to Seton. This is probably why I've maybe gone to the movies twice in 2 years.

I envy the people who have the patience to wait until a movie comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray.
I'm the type that sees an interesting trailer and immediatly wants to see the movie as soon as possible. Chances are if I don't see a movie the first week it's out, I'll never see it because I probably had little interest in it anyways.

Not interested. I download all the movies I want from home and watch them in the comfort of my own living room with booze I buy from the liquor store.

I guess I just don't find most new movies today compelling enough that I have to see it right away. There are way too many great movies that I can watch via the internet/Netflix etc that I find more interesting. And honestly, I think there are much better tv shows out there than movies these days anyway. Most theater releases today fall into the Transformer/Comic Book/Crappy Remake category.... those just don't interest me.

I would go for this, I am a huge fan of the AVX ticket pre order. It really helps settle my OCD when its time to go to a movie... haha.. seriously.

I'd like less food in the theatre, not more. I want to maximize the cinematic experience, not hear the clinking of glasses and smell some guys entree while I watch a film.

I have paid for the deluxe seating and guaranteed seat at Cross Iron for certain long line up Blockbusters.
But i wouldn't pay extra for this. Personally I don't like the idea of serving alcohol at a movie.
I also do not like the idea of even 1 potential drunk hitting the road afterwards.
If we go to a Dreamworks type movie its a family movie. Going to a horror movie or say a movie like the Expendables 2 not too many kids.
So the no kids element is not even an issue.

I went and watched Dark Knight Rises at the VIP theatre in Edmonton. I thought it was worth it, tons of leg room, no one sitting on one side of you, large areas to put drink and food down and food and drink delivered to your seat.
And the added bonus of being able to buy tickets in advance with seat selection makes going to the movies a more civilized process, as opposed to the alternative stand in line for tickets, stand in line for popcorn etc...

this. i haven't bought any food or drink for a movie in years. i always eat before or go to dinner with friends after the movie, why pay such inflated prices? surely you can go a whole 2 hours without stuffing junk in your face

Thats why I miss Drive-ins. Load up the cooler, fill a paper shopping bag with popcorn, bring a couple good pillows and a blanket, bring along a hot babe... and away you go!

Oneof the reasons I like going to the movies if FOR the junk! I love getting a large popcorn with the ketchup seasoning and a large coke. It's part of the experience for me. Even the next day popcorn hangover (severely dehydrated) is part of it!

I would only pay extra if I can pause the movie if I needed to go to the bathroom.

Popcorn is the only acceptable theatre food. (excluding candy and stuff but it doesn't smell, although the bags are loud but I digress that's another issue).
Anything other than popcorn, which is safe to say we all associate with movies, is just an unpleasant stink. I don't want to smell your nachos and burgers and fries and assorted other crap while I watch a film.
The link actually says "specialty appetizers". Could you imagine some guy with something like calamari next to you? Eff that.
What they should have is weed. Seriously. It is a pain to have to save a seat then go out and blaze right before the film, especially when you show up extra early for a big movie. By the time it starts I'm pretty much sober. I'm only half kidding.

I wouldn't pay more than a theatre currently costs, but if it is the same price I might start going to the theatre again.
