I was correct on the rear wing DRS and not being able to see it. Yeah it's a prototype rear wing but it'll be interesting if they're allowed some creative freedom as to where the cuts will go for the DRS wing.
This is probably the best breakdown of the new car from a technical standpoint and gives you an idea on where teams have some room to play.
I suspect the ground aero inside the diffuser tunnel will be massively different for each team but it's something we will never see. I guess they'll have to call them sticky Downey bitsinstead of sticky uppy bits now since they'll be under the car.
Not sure I like wheel covers. Seems like a piece begging to break every single race. I doubt they last long. Carbon fiber ain't cheap and I can't imagine any team willing to pony up for expensive dinner plates every single race.
Ended up watching both races. A cool layout, but for the life of me I cant figure out why F-E insists on such ridiculously tight circuits. They intentionally make them so there is very little chance to reasonably pass. The result being stupid kamikaze dive bombs as the driver yells out "seeennnnddd itttt"...
So stupid. I actually think they could have a rather exciting series (minus some stupid gimmicks) since the cars do seem relatively closely matched.
I'm still going to YVR for it next year...but still...C'mon mannn
Remember Hungary is this weekend for the holidaying folks!
They did one race this season on an open race track(Valencia), and it was great. I know they need shorter circuits with fewer long straights, but they should seek those out, instead of the street race philosophy.

Yes! Forgot about that, I watched that double as well and it was far more entertaining. I believe one was in the wet as well. Definitely agree...wonder why they don't go after MotoGP circuits since IIRC they are shorter in general and a bit tighter.
They could keep the long straights if they simply let the cars have the same XXX kWh they do now and just not make them cut available power every time there is a Yellow Flag.

The power deductions are dumb. When F1 has yellows, they don't put fuel limits in, they are free to push harder. The battery limits are only to allow them to finish the race distance as calculated. With extra power following yellows, the racing would be way more exciting. And while I'm ranting, get rid of fan boost!

In F1(or any form of racing) when the yellow is out, you aren't supposed to push harder...
After the yellow. In FE they deduct energy equivalent to what you would have used. So if you have 5 laps under yellow driving slow, not consuming much, you don't get to deploy that power later. It's an artificial reduction for no good reason.
