No Phillips tonight (covid protocol) and Wolf on the bench. Stockton getting stomped 5–1 by Colorado.

Reading some speculation that Yan Kuznetsov maybe be loaned back to juniors. He's not getting a lot of ice time in Stockton.

Werner is sadly not living up to expectations. 2.98 GAA, .882 SV%. Wolf is 2.19 GAA, .932 SV%.

I assume Kuznetsov will join Russia for the WJC. That followed by a Memorial Cup run with the Seadogs could be good for him in the long run

Did Werner come in with high expectations?

Many pundits thought that Werner was ready to take the next step, and there were even some that thought that Werner would challenge Vladar for the back-up job behind Markstrom.

Werner, I think is more of a AHL journeyman to be a placekeeper until one of the kids emerged (which, fortunately, has happened sooner than later). Hence the one year deal.
He's still young enough to be a reclamation project of sorts, but he's not helping his cause.
Given the unstable status of Tyler Parsons, he was insurance.
I thought the Flames would've gone with Garret Sparks again, given the personal rapport/mentorship Dustin Wolf had mentioned.

Not good news for the Oilers on that front - the AHL club in Covid protocol and the NHL club having to sit Ceci also due to Covid. Biohacker Keith is not doing his job very well.

Stockton wins 4-1 over San Diego. First star was Mackey (2g,1a), second star was Pospisil (1g), third star was Zary (1g). Pelletier had an assist, as did Valimaki. Wolf stops 23 of 24.

NOTABLE
- Martin Pospisil’s goal gives him a three-game point streak. He has goals in back-to-back games.
- Connor Zary’s goal in the second period was his second of the year.
- Connor Mackey’s shorthanded goal in the second was his first goal of the season and the second shorthanded marker of the year for the Heat. He notched his first multi-point game of the season as he also had a helper on Pospisil’s score.
- Stockton is now 4-0-0-0 on the year following a loss.
- Dustin Wolf has led the Heat to at least a point in 12 consecutive starts (10-0-2-0).
Valimaki doesnt seem too happy...maybe its just his personality.

Valimaki going to the AHL, probably serves as motivation for Mackey too. Shows him that he has a chance to get up to the NHL as well, and isn’t necessarily as low down the depth chart as presumed.

One of those two has to step up and take an NHL job next year. With Kylington taking a huge step and looking to get a large bump in AAV, we need a cheaper option for the bottom pair.

100%
Clearing Zadorov's 3.5 million for a cheaper/faster replacement at a lower AAV is a must with all the big raises due.
Glad Valimaki is finally getting minutes. I hope they play him in all situations.

1 regulation loss in 13 AHL starts and that was his very first game where he got lit up for 5 goals on 11 shots in less than half the game.

And they were some of the unluckiest goals I've ever seen.
Wolf is starting again tonight. Still no Phillips. Treliving is here.

Try and get a few words in with Tre.
It's unreal what you're doing! I'm jealous of the life you're living. Hard work pays off
