Do you think Apple will ever add a touchscreen to their Macbooks? You can do the gestures on the trackpad. It seems natural to me to have a hybrid OSX and iOS built into a Macbook, sort of like that screen you can get when you flip the main desktop to the side (sorry I don't know what it's called) that is like the bulletin board with stuff on it. That could be the iOS page where you could access your iOS apps and iCloud.

I guess they've tried it on the Macbooks but in testing people's arms got tired, the screens got dirty and, after a while, users went back to using the laptop as they would without a touch screen.
It'll happen eventually when they have a good hybrid design. I'd love to be able to remove my Macbook Air's screen and use it as an iPad.

Dear God no. It's hard enough for me to keep my screen clean with all the screen-touchers I work with.

Hybrid design is anathema to how Apple views the hardware landscape - the iPad is the new mobile computer, and the Mac is the "truck" that some people need to be productive. They won't compromise either form factor to turn them into a hybrid, in my opinion.

Well something happened to my MacBook tonight. I was using my windows boot camp for work and went to switch back to osx and I just get a blue screen that flickers grey gets a pin wheel then goes back and repeats. Windows portion still works fine. I can't seem to find my osx start up disk does anyone have one or a snow leopard disk I can borrow to see if a fresh install will get it going again.

What happens when you hold down the Option (ALT) key while booting?
Also, were you running Lion or (Snow) Leopard?

Blue screen means the kernel is already loaded and has begun the process of bootstrapping OS X itself via the launchd process, so I know where you're going with this, but its not likely to help - it's already picking the correct partition for booting OS X, but it's failing after that point.
You could try booting into safe mode by holding down the left shift key until the system starts up - see if that lets you get going or not.
Safe mode how: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455?v...S&locale=en_US
Safe mode, what: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564

Well when I hold the shift key down it will just sit on the apple logo screen and pin wheel spins indefinitely. If I let go it then goes to the blue screen and stays there
This happens if I hold it for 30 seconds or 15 mins

Mine works in general, but the Mac app has a funny way of saying i have unread messages when I don't. The issue is that a quit/restart of the app doesn't fix it. You actually have to restart the machine. I guess that's betas for ya.

Yeah thats one of the two issues I have, the other being messages will randomly pop up again in the app even after I've closed em and no new message had came in.

So, wtf is going on with iPhones and how slow/crap they are now? Is the new OS simply too beefy to handle on iP4 and they're geared towards 4S?
