Incoming Garrett Crochett performance as he transitions to a SP would be the Jays luck.

Its all about control with him.
His stuff is all there, and maybe a new/different voice can get him steadied.

He had a brief good run a few years ago.
He seems he has all the tools and size, but not the command of pitches or seemingly the mental makeup to be a precise and consistent pitcher, and his now 98-99mph fastballs aren't overpowering.
He makes peanuts though.

And Bochy of little faith pulls his starter. He was so close to getting out of it unscathed.

We can't do anything against Jose Urena. Then again, we can't do crap against most half-decent pitchers.

Pearson seemed like a guy who was obsessed with velocity and forgot to learn how to pitch. There were reports that he could eventually hit 110mph.
His 98-99mph is really flat and isn’t overly intimidating to guys who now see 98mph every single day from pitchers who throw with a lot of movement and fantastic secondary stuff.
It’s extremely frustrating that they couldn’t develop him.
Failures in pitching development is going to sink this team long term.

I am still a Pearson fan. He’s never complained and worked hard. He just seems like one of those guys hard on himself. Sucks they didn’t get a lot of quality for him. I could see him figuring it all out one day.

I like Pearson too and would have preferred to keep him and tried to stretch him out into a starter.
I almost wonder if the Tiedemann news made them reconsider moving Kikuchi with hopes to keep him next year and they are trying to get younger by trading non core pieces.
Not having Manoah (for at least two thirds of 2025), Tiedemann, or Kikuchi would leave a really big hole in their pitching staff. If they can keep Kikuchi, they would have a full rotation and could focus on getting two big bats and fill holes in their bullpen. If things don’t work, they can go full rebuild next year by selling everyone including Bo, Bassitt, Gausman, Romano, and even Vlad.

Yeah, he has all the tools (which is why he was ranked so high). If he ever manages to put it together he'll be great

Vlad with some nice range there at third!
Let him play there for the rest of the season and throughout the off season. His value is so much higher over there.

Jano would love playing in Fenway. He’d do great with the Green Monster.
By all accounts, he’s a great dude and, if he’s moved, I wish him the best.

I have low expectations of a healthy return for him given his pending free agency. The guy couldn’t stay healthy for a prolonged period of time. Look like Kirk and Kirk Jr. as a platoon next year.

I miss Buck. Siddal is good but only in short bursts.
Gausman a solid complete game. 118 pitched.
Small victories such as this is all there is at this point.

See, 118 pitches is allowed. Arms are not going to fall of.

Without Jano, the Jays management really needs to lay down the law with Kirk. He needs to be able to catch 3-4 times a week. He can’t come back in the same shape that he’s come into Spring Training over the past couple of seasons.

Sounds like Jansen for Coffey plus two more prospects
