For the Jays to play the Indians, which I think is the worst possible scenario, the following has to happen today.

Jays win
Yankees lose
Indians win
White Sox lose

Any other scenario and we should avoid Cleveland, as far as I can decipher.

Which honestly, would not be a shock. The 3 AL Central teams and A's are all very evenly matched and it would be foolish to write off the Astros too.

Exactly - there is very little separation in the American League this year.

Unlike the NL, where the Dodgers are separated from the pack (especially if the Padres did in fact lose 2 pitchers yesterday)

Fish up 3-0 over the Yanks
Bucs up 1-0 over the tribe
In Chiraq the North siders are up 3-0 over the South siders
Twinkies and Reds are still scoreless

The Marlins need to to change back to their original colors. They were a great combination that was unique and suited the team name quite well.

White Sox already lost basically and really who thinks the Pirates will win over Cleveland on the road. (They’re tied 2-2 now) So if the Jays and Yankees hold up we’re likely getting Cleveland which I’m not sure how much I love that.

6-0 in the 3rd is hardly a safe lead in MLB these days.

lol I hate the Trop but good grief Bieber/Plesac/Carrasco is not a very intriguing proposition.

Tribe has tied their game and O's have tied ours. So, it's still far from a reality

It’s still 95%. I expect the chances for Pittsburgh to pull true upset off is a bit higher but I’m sure Cleveland is scoreboard watching and would much rather be 4 than 7. Of course if they leave Roark in there much longer it will be moot. Hopefully with a full offseason and regular spring training he can get his velocity back up which is what’s really killed him this year. We’re stuck with him next year so getting some value will be key.

Go Pitt! It will be disheartening if we miss on 5th and matchup with ChiSox because of Roark blowing it. I imagine we’d prefer to play them than Tampa but I’ve not really looked at the Chicago matchup.

I think it's safe to say that Roark and Gooch will be nowhere near pitching in the playoffs. Just horrible.

Ok now with Pitt and Miami up more this seems like a lost opportunity.

Yeah, if we can come back, we likely get the White Sox. IMO, that's a better opponent than the Rays.

Also, the Rays and Yankees going head to head, so that one of them is out in the first round, is a pleasing prospect.
