The ladies doubles team of Mladenovic and Babos were the top seeds and were slated to play Gaby Dabrowski and Alison Riske.
Kristina Mladenovic and her partner, Timea Babos, have been dropped from the U.S. Open women’s doubles competition after Mladenovic was issued a quarantine notice by public health officials of Nassau County, New York.
The U.S. Tennis Association announced the withdrawal Saturday, saying it was “obligated to adhere to government guidance.”
Mladenovic was one of seven players placed under extra restrictions during the tournament after contact tracing determined she potentially could have been exposed to COVID-19 by Benoit Paire, the only entrant to test positive.

Thiem is taking Cilic to the woodshed which is fine because I can't stand Cilic. It certainly looks like it will be Felix vs. Thiem in the next round.

I'm not sure if there will be a Davis Cup this year, but if there is Canada has to be considered a favorite. Dennis and Felix in singles and then a doubles team of Milos and Vasek would be deadly.

Jennifer Brady just dispatched Angelique Kerber 6-1 6-4. No word as of yet whether Kerber called Brady a "drama queen".

It's certainly nice to have flexibility, that's for sure. That chemistry between Vasek and Denis at the 2019 Davis Cup was awesome, not sure if you want to break up that partnership. Milos would still be a monster in singles play especially if you're playing indoors. It's a great problem for coach Frank Dancevic to have lol

Novak just took a nasty spill in his match with PCB - it looks like he tweaked his shoulder quite badly.
Edit: He's back playing and it was his left shoulder.

Yeah, that's what she was clutching. This is taking a long time to decide what punishment might be handed down.

It's the 2nd ball he hit against the backboard.

I hope she’s okay. The velocity of the ball in the throat. Goodness.

Reminiscent of Denis hitting the chair umpire in the eye with a wicked forehand which also resulted in a default during Davis Cup play a few years ago. Shapo's ball was hit with much more anger and velocity.
Edit: Also reminds me of Nalbandian kicking the bottom of an umpire's chair at the Queen's Club tourney several years ago and drawing blood from the shins of the linesman.
