Nope. The local ESPN affiliate carries the games down here. That is, unless, they are planning to announce they are going back to 1420. WOC 1420, the station the interview will be on, has a might higher power transmitter, so it would be a good thing if they did.

They used to be on WOC 1420. Worst thing they ever did moving them to the current station. Can't hardly even hear it at my house, and most of the area south of the QC, and I'm only 30 minutes from The Mark.

Don't feel bad Hoody. I live about three minutes from The Mark, and the station fades once and awhile.
I hope someone is able to recap the interview, I won't be able to listen.

That's strange... I am listening to it right now--from Calgary.

Thanks DS. It was an interesting listen. Taylor kind of struggled when asked if any of the current Mallards would be given a shot with the team.

It'll be an adjustment to go from having a group of guys you can really get to know to the more fickle farm team atmosphere where everyone's hoping to move up and out of here.
Our minor league baseball team is affiliated with the Cardinals, and I feel like there's a little less team spirit because of the constant turnover. Hopefully it works out better for the Flames.

For me personally, seeing our players make it to the NHL will be exciting. I look forward to faster, more exciting hockey, and to seeing former QC Flames on Versus or NBC.
On an unrelated note, I was talking to a friend last night who was a Mallards season ticket holder a few years ago. He cancelled his tickets when they brought Paul Gillis back to coach a second time (I think that was when many of the season ticket holder base left. There was a LOT of fan dissatisfaction with Gillis). Now he's buying four seats for the upcoming season. From what I hear, sales are currently back to where they were about three years ago. There does seem to be genuine excitement here.
Bring on October...

...and there isn't generally all that much turn-over during any given season. Sure, there will be a dozen or so call-ups but the vast majority of those will be temporary 2 or 3 gamers. If more than a couple of call-ups become semi-permanent, I'd be surprised. Of course, you'll have turnover in the off-season due to trades, players making the transition to the big club, and new player acquisitions entering the system but that's becoming the norm even at the NHL level. Check the main boards for all of the disucssion and rumour-mongering. In short, you will have a core of players that you will get to know and enjoy for five or six years, another group that have a couple or three years in the AHL and then the relatively uncommon 1 year or less players.

The Flames roster is pretty set with established players and vets, I expect farm team players to be pretty stable in 2-year stretches.
