Nope. And Lidstrom won the Norris seven times in that timeframe, still couldn't get nominated for the Hart (finished fourth one year).

I think Gio not being sent to the ASG might actually be getting him more Norris publicity than if he'd gone.

While his offence is deservedly getting a lot of attention his defence is just as good. Someone should send a clip of him defending with just his hands the other day to everyone who will vote on the award.

Or they could tell them he's a Toronto native?

UNDRAFTED junior and NHL d-man from TORONTO. Now that's a story worthy of votes.

I couldn't believe it the other day vs Colorado when he PUNCHED the puck off of was it Rantanen's stick on a penalty kill.

Legit one of the hardest working, smartest, and most determined hockey players I've ever seen.

There isn't even a contest this year IMO, if Gio doesn't win the Norris,it's simply bias.

He is by the far the best OVERALL Dman THIS year.

Our team is so good. I just noticed the top 4 players in +/- are all Flames.

- Gio at +29
- Brodie at +28
- Backlund at + 27
- Lindholm at +26

Johnny comes in at #12 and Frolik at #40.

Yup, and the Flames also have a near-monopoly on shorthanded points as well

Gio has the offensive D points, the character, leadership and Defensive zone play to qualify as s Norris finalist.
It will be tough to win against a Maple Leaf that will get far more publicity from eastern media than Gio will generate when it comes down to the voting.
Gio at the halfway point definitely deserves to win but unfortunately it could be an uphill battle against some bias voting.
Gio will have to continue to put up more points than Burns. Accumulate both more points and plus minus than Reilly, so far so good.

Giordano wins the Norris at the midway point.

Gio has more of a rep than Reilly though, which is hard to ignore by writers. Reilly has never even been an All Star. Gio has, and he's been shortlisted for the Olympics. Finished 10th in Norris voting once as well.

I don't even think Reilly should be 2nd in Norris voting.
John Carlson has been better IMO. I also think he was the MVP of last year's playoffs.
