Canes Cash Out On Carter

The Carolina Hurricanes have traded center Jeff Carter to the Buffalo Sabres Saturday night in exchange for forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau .

Carter had been partially responsible for the recent success of the 'Canes as they have clawed their way back into the playoff picture. Both Carter and James Neil were paroed with the stuggling Mathew Barzal which once put together egnighted the struggling Hurricanes offence. But with success, it also brought attention to other teams scouting staffs and headed the eventually trade to the Sabres.

Regardless of recent games sucess, it was improantant the Hurricanes continue to reshape the orginization, which has recently involved trying to lower the bodies under contract with the 'Canes. The Hurricanes management looks to keep busy on the trade front as they look to move out some prospects for immediate help, while also looking to move out some veterans for the future.
