Could be a rough trip, you may want to look into the Panzer.

Look for build quality and reliability. 30kmph speed is enough for around the city and faster than all the rentals. The larger the battery the better and 50km+ range is useful.

I would highly recommend the Segway Ninebot Max G2. Great build quality, easily goes 30kmph and over 50km's on a charge. Try and get one from Costco so you have the extra piece of mind if something goes wrong. However, it's a but pricey at $1,300 and not currently in stock at Costco.

Costco does have the older version, the Segway Ninebot G30P, in stock and currently on sale for $1,000. The big difference is that it doesn't have suspension and a bit less power.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a Segway. Established company, reliable and well built. Lot's of support for repairs/spare parts.

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy an Apollo scooter. Although a Canadian company the build quality and customer service is awful. I had a terrible experience with them and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

E-scooters are cool for a quick ride now and then. But, man, it's kinda alarming how many folks hop on 'em when they're not all there. Seen some crazy wipeouts.
