I disagree, it would be a waste to call him up. The kid has never won the cup, doesn't even have playoff experience, and hasn't even scored a point in the NHL.

Don't call him up to the NHL until he gets some NHL experience.

Logic.

I think that Phillips should have to score 300 points by February and then- AND ONLY THEN- should get a 1 shift chance to score a goal and if he doesn’t send him down again.

Is he currently a center or winger?

I wonder what the Flames told Phillips when they sent him down, in terms of what he needs to do to get called up.

"You're going to need to lead the AHL in scoring by at least 25 points by December"

"Hey, I'm leading the AHL in scoring"

"Oooooo but not by 25 points. Sorry kid. Now you have to grow 2 feet and put on 40 lbs by January. Good luck".

That quote from Treliving is troubling. What type of dominance have Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie, Ronney shown?

The only issue I have with this is that the Mangiapane-Kadri-Dube line is fundamentally lacking someone who can really protect the puck and control the puck along the boards when the pace slows down, the way Huberdeau/Lindholm/Toffoli do on their line and Ruzicka does on his line, and to an admittedly lesser extent Backlund does on his line. Phillips doesn't really resolve that issue. But the answer isn't to ignore Phillips, it's to spread out and balance the skillsets on each line.

The Calgary Flames staff all have emails of First initial Last name @ CalgaryFlames.com, right? So BTreliving@CalgaryFlames.com?

Something tells like Treliving's executive assistant is not going to forward the email to him.

The last Flames' prospect to win AHL player of the month was Mangiapane in October 2017. He got his first NHL recall and played his first NHL game on December 31, 2017, after Frolik was placed on the IR.

He had 46 points in 39 games in Stockton that season. He had zero points in 10 games in Calgary.

https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showth...ght=Mangiapane

On Mangiapane, despite not scoring he was generating some chances and could keep up

There’s already a couple guys taking shifts up here that have proven that they can’t keep up.

Mang 46pts/39games = 1.18 P/G

Phillips 26pts/18games = 1.44 P/G

The difference is not insignificant. Besides, wasn't Mang put on the 4th line with pluggers when he was called up?
