So no teams got 9 points. I know that teams with 6 points rest some players in the 3rd game but i think it was more extreme this year due to the condense schedule

The shirt off rule is so stupid. Just a ridiculous overreaction to when Brandi Chastain took off her top and ultra conservative people were offended by a sports bra.

top half of the bracket is pretty straight forward; Arg-Brazil semi-final. the lower half is trickier with France, England, Spain, and Portugal. I can see either one of those 4 making the final. This, of course, is without any upsets. Japan and Switzerland could win their matches.

Are you relying on historical reputations a bit much here?

Brazil has performed the best in the top half of the bracket, but they've shown they are beatable. Croatia and Japan have looked better than Argentina.

England looked good vs Iran only, but it was Iran. France, Morocco & Spain have looked the best in the bottom half.

I preferred when they’d flip the shirt over their head and fly around like airplanes.

So is the belief that the two round of 16 games should see the favorites through?

We might see upsets but I don’t think it is going to be in the games tomorrow

Netherlands should beat US and Argentina should beat Australia.

You want upsets?

Japan over Croatia - Croatia just limped through the group with two 0-0 draws while Japan beat 2 giants to win their group.
Swiss over Portugal - Portugal was just trying to outscore the opponents, not much defense at all, while Swiss seems can get things done when it counts.

I dont know man, neither Holland nor Argentina have been playing all that well and the Yanks and Aussies had to fight tooth and nail just to get this far.

They're playing with no pressure and they're playing with house money.

You get a couple loose teams playing against some tightly wound teams and we could see something happen.

Pretty good international representation in the round of 16. Biggest surprise is more Asian than South American teams.

-8x UEFA
-3x AFC
-2x CONMEBOL & CAF
-1x CONCACAF

Cheers for the belief, but Messi is going to tear us a new one.

That’s the game I’m most unsure of. I don’t think the US are great, but Netherlands haven’t looked like world beaters either. I’d have thought they’d hand Qatar a beating, and while it wasn’t close, it wasn’t sheer dominance either.

One thing I wanted to say is that I was disappointed by Canada and others with nothing to play for not taking a stand to wear the “one love” arm bands or things like that. You’re already out, so you might as well show some fortitude and send a message about the regime.

Yeah. Fear for younse. Guessing not playing that well includes two dominant performances over the Mexicans and Poles. That game could easily been 6-0.

American defence has been sleeping the whole second half this game should be about 5 nil. Also that Wright guy the us keeps bringing on is so terrible, he almost cost them the game against Iran and his goal was hilariously bad/lucky
