Oh he retired? I thought it was Rogers moving on from him. That’s good then. Cool.

I will miss Tabby. He was great.

Seems like he is a bit young to retire no?

Okay after that insane deGrom contract I now wish they had qualified Stripling. Deals are getting stupid this year.

Pirates 27 year old switch hitting CFer Bryan Reynolds has apparently requested a trade.

Jays could sure use some of that.

These retirements in television are often as much "okay, time to go but we'll let you retire gracefully" as anything.

I like him as a person. Just genuine, charming and nice with a good voice. But even as a causal baseball fan I got frustrated listening to him say absolutely nothing with way too many words.

I’ve been as big of a Tabler critic as anyone but I wish him well in his retirement. He had to do a lot of work when Buck was battling cancer and he carried the load as best as he could in a pretty trying time.

I hope to hear a lot more of Joe Siddall in the booth this year.

Jays apparently in on the bidding for Verlander.

He's asking for 3 years. Huge AAV too.

Pretty risky for a 39-40 year old

Jays just about got him last year, then he went on to win the CY. With our luck they'll get him this year on a multi year and his arm will fall off lol

Three years at $35M would be a bit of an overpayment but I ultimately think the guy delivers. Beats paying for young guy potential where they bow out after a couple seasons due to injuries or potential not transpiring. He’s a vet who seems to know how to maintain himself (minus his tommy John season).

I think he’s using the Jays for leverage, but let’s see. This is a huge positive if true.

Yeah it also might be a sign that the Jays have a bigger budget than we thought, as $35 million will eat up everything I thought they had left.

Well, I didn't think we'd get Verlander anyways.

Speaking of pitchers I doubt we get, Rodon (Boras) is apparently asking for a 6 year deal.

Just give me that Kodai Senga please.

Utterly bananas. Not saying he’s not worth it, but in a recessionary year I didn’t think it would happen. Is that the highest AAV ever handed out? Judge is licking his chops now.

While I’ve never seen the guy foreign pitchers tend to do well their first year in NA where they haven’t been fully scouted yet. Crapshoot after that but at this point it’s realistically something they have to pursue. Rondon anywhere past four years will be a gamble and a significant price too. Much rather the higher price in a short term then be burned by long term contracts.

The Turner deal doesn’t change anything or set a new precedence . It’s exactly what the other big 3 SS got in their deals and what Bichette will cost if he wants a long term deal

I agree, but this guy convinced Vladdy leaving as soon as he can.

The Blue Jays are actively exploring the market for rotation help and have put forth an offer to left-hander Andrew Heaney, reports Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet. Heaney, however, has received varying levels of interest from at least 10 teams and has fielded multiple offers at this point, per the report.
