Formenton is also the one player that hasn't released a statement of any sort right?

Correct, but remember there’s the #1 “John Doe” who was said to be the man behind the controversial texts and the guy who invited it all to happen.

He’s also the only player to not have put a statement out…
There was also damning evidence on the night clubs Facebook page that has since been taken down when this all went lawsuit.

Boeser doesn't have any trade protection until July 1st, 2024 where he gets a 10 team No trade list according to capfriendly

so giving him permission to talk to other teams is probably so other teams can talk to him and feel more comfortable giving up assets for him.

How bad is he?

Mangiapane for Brock at 15% retained and a 2nd round pick?

Playing to full potential Boeser is what the Flames need in terms of a right shot wing. Canucks would have to eat salary and the return be minimal.

if mangi and Brock continue their struggles I would entertain the idea .. entertain

his role would be to wire pp goals from the circle as often as possible , which would bring more than mangiapane has on the season

would need longer to see if mangi puts it together because he might yet

So a consistent 20-25 goal scorer vs a invisible one year wonder.

I don't like his injury history.

He has a great shot but can never seem to stay healthy.

Do we need to pluck away any more Canucks? Why is it their core players are being jettisoned or they want to leave?

I agree-both are approximately the same size (Boeser is slightly larger), both are RW, both have a good shot, both score goals, and both have skating deficiencies.

Thing is, would having 2 Toffoli's at RW be so bad? Despite the similarities, I think Boeser is the better player (although TT has Stanley Cup pedigree), slightly quicker, and will put up a lot more points in the right situation. The big question is his injury history, and his XL salary IMO. I think he would be a consistent 30-40 goal scorer with Huby, but the cost of aquiring him might be way too steep.

Mangiapane has more goals this season still, and more over the last 4 seasons combined (76-66)….so not sure how he’s a one year wonder and Boeser is some representation of consistency.

I’m guessing Boeser has a lot more top unit PP time too. Mangiapane had a rough first 20, but so have many of the teams forward group, and Boeser has struggled even more these last two years.

The whole point of the canucks trading boeser would be to free up cap space, nobody with significant salary will be in the return, it’ll be picks and prospects

Boeser will not be expensive to acquire. The Canucks need the cap space. They might retain a bit, but they will likely have to take someone else's problem contract (short term) and possibly add a sweetener.

Not sure it works for Calgary unless they can move Lucic in a separate deal.

Flames need speed, they need players like Bennett and Duclair. Flames biggest issue right now is not having players that compliment Huberdeau, Boeser is not going to do that. Huberdeau needs players that can play with speed and just crash the net to create space, while also having skill to receive his passes and empty net tap ins
