No question, I was trying to find out how much and what kind of ammunition a Wasp Class Ship would carry, all I could find that it has four pretty large ammunition storage lockers throughout the ship that carry bombs and missiles for its aircraft Fixed Wing and rotary, plus missiles and war heads for its sea sparrow systems, plus ammunition for the various guns on their planes and the ship itself. Plus if I read it right it can carry 450,000 gallons of various fuel to support the ships two boilers, plus aircraft and vehicles.

I think it was in for maintenance so hopefully munitions and fuel had been unloaded

Yes, the ship has been in maintenance for some time. All of the munitions would have been removed, but some fuel/oil remained - mostly to keep generators running. The Admiral speaking in the press conferences indicated the fuel/oil are two decks below the fire at this time.

There are currently 400 Navy/Fed personnel fighting this fire and the same Admiral hopes the BHR will sail again, although I think he is just saying that so as not to discredit the efforts of the said 400 fire fighters.

I think and you can correct me that the American's have 10 of these Wasp's left in service, this one, was one of the newer ones.

Eight ships were commissioned and eight (soon to be seven) are still in service.

The border between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been tense for some time, but the heat ratcheted up several days ago when Armenia attacked an Azeri position because, allegedly, the Azeris flew a drone across the border into Armenia. Both sides have been trading shots the past few days.

The primary root of hostility between the two countries is the disputed territory of Karabakh, internationally recognized as belonging to Azerbaijan but the majority population is Armenian. It is currently governed by the Republic of Artsakh operating as a de facto independent state.



Last night, protestors in Baku called for the government to end the quarantine and go to war.

Ironic note: both are members of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” programme.

While Russia and Turkey support opposing sides in the Armenian/Azerbaijani dispute, they buitted heads at times in Idlib, Syria, and now they are conducting joint patrols in Syria.

Maybe the other way around? Russia and Turkey held a joint Navy ex in the Black Sea last year.
