Looks like you can't and that is really the only difference between the two, besides lower admin fees?
Actually I was told you can with atco. It’s an agreement not a contract. I think I heard somewhere that power contracts can’t happen in Alberta. Might be wrong on that part.

I just wanted to throw this out there...if you have a low income and are falling behind on utility bills, or if your utilities have been disconnected, there is possibly some help out there from the provincial government. Call 211 to find out more information. Not everyone on CP makes 100k a year, and it's ok to ask for some help.

Any updates to what Enmax is offering to counter the ATCO promotion?

they told me about a contest where 3 people/week, would win a $500 gift card to the Bay or something. That is their counter, I countered with "I'll be switching to ATCO"

Contest? That's a pretty weak counter to ATCO's offer

So is the general consensus that ATCO will be cheaper than Enmax because of the lower admin fees? Or are they about the same? I'll probably switch because of the promotion with the hope ATCO is cheaper in the long run being the newer service provider.

Admin fee’s at atco are about $2/month less per site. Works out to $50/year less in admin fee’s. There’s no guarantee atco won’t raise their fees unless you choose a fixed five year.

Electricity rates are cheaper at atco with better five year fixed rates than enmax can offer. Loyal customers might get a competitive three year rate at enmax.

Atcos gas is 10 cents/gj cheaper (need confirmation on that one)

And then the Jan/feb promo.

Enmax had really good customer service until the last few months where I’m finding it’s the same as atco.

Is the promo based off last years usage or do they just waive the cost regardless?

Just enter the ENMAX draws until the 25th, then switch to ATCO before year end. Maybe win some prizes....

Depends on your situation for the gas.... My rate with enmax since I have been there a while and haven't switched plans is market +0.89.... Enmax advertises .9 so if your on that it would be cheaper.... The extra 40 cents for me pretty much covers the lower admin fee....

January and Feb last year my bills were 131.11 just for the usage... so not too bad of an incentive to switch.... Do they have annual incentives to stay there like easymax?

So what is the process, just call the City of Calgary line(311) and cancel?

Does anyone get their gas through Direct Energy? I don’t have a contract or anything, just floating rate or whatever every month. I want to take ATCO up on this offer but switching both Enmax and Direct Energy feels like a potential headache. But it’s prob like $200-300 savings over the two months for both gas and electricity... worth the headache.

If you want to cancel your Enmax service, call Enmax.
